The Materials Mgmt Sr Specialist position Coordinates incoming and outgoing movement and storage of raw materials, finished products and parts that include functions such as warehousing, shop and delivery services to ensure material availability and delivery when needed to meet production schedules | Compiles data on order volume, production
Major Position Responsibilities:
- Determines the resources necessary to ensure an uninterrupted supply to support production and sales.
- Ensures that materials are cost-effective.
- Assists in determining and ensuring the quality of materials.
- Monitors inventory levels and coordinates with purchasing to maintain adequate levels of parts and raw materials to manufacture the product.
- Works to resolve materials issues while achieving and maintaining inventory business metrics.
- Finds new suppliers when needed.
- May be responsible for working from blueprints to determine the specifications for the parts needed to produce the product.
- May also have responsibility for Project Management including:
- Manages all aspects of complex projects throughout the project lifecycle: planning, scope definition, design, execution, and delivery.
- Liaises between project members, cross-functional teams, external vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure deliverables, requirements, schedules, cost, and meeting plans are communicated.
- Assists with the selection, negotiation, and managing of all activities regarding external consultants or vendors.
- Utilizes appropriate tools to plan project timelines, tasks, milestones, and deadlines.
- Plans and facilitates project meetings to align the project team to methods and goals and to track project tasks.
- Prepares agendas, meeting notes, and project summaries.
- Tracks progress against milestones, budgetary guidelines, or other performance indicators, and prepares reports to senior management.
- Monitors task completion status to identify at risk project tasks and to develop mitigation plans.
- Allocates resources, budgets, and hours to the project and adjusts allocations when necessary.
Basic Qualifications:
Required Education and Experience: Associates Degree and 5-7 years' experience or Equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience
Preferred Education: Bachelor's Degree
Discipline/Major: Business or related degree preferred
