Job Description

As a key member of the meat team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and maintaining a clean and organized store environment.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a fresh and appealing display by checking product quality, rotating stock, and removing out-of-date items.

  • Ensure back stock is well-organized and easily accessible.

  • Participate in sampling programs to promote products and engage with customers.

  • Clean and sanitize all equipment, floors, and surfaces as required.

  • Provide excellent customer service, address customer needs promptly, and model suggestive selling techniques.

  • Maximize sales potential through effective merchandising and inventory management.

  • FOLLOW established procedures for Weights and Measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices.

  • Maintain a clean and sanitary working environment, adhering to WFM cleanliness and safety standards.

  • Perform opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned, ensuring accuracy of signs and pricing.

  • Report any safety hazards or violations immediately.

  • Develop skills to perform additional Team Member job responsibilities as needed.

No prior retail experience required. Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • In an 8-hour work day: standing/walking 6-8 hours.
  • Hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling.
  • Work requires bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching.
  • Exposure to FDA-approved cleaning chemicals.
  • Exposure to temperatures: <32 degrees Fahrenheit (freezing), 32-40 degrees Fahrenheit (refrigerators), >90 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Ability to work in a wet and cold environment.
  • Ability to handle knives and other cutting equipment.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
