EV.Careers is currently seeking a full-time Lead Application Engineer for one of our partners, a market-leading manufacturer of electric vehicle charging solutions. In this position, you will report directly to company leadership and lead a team of application engineers who serve as technical liaisons between sales teams and customers, supporting the implementation of cutting-edge EV charging infrastructure while ensuring optimal system integration and compatibility.
Core Responsibilities - Lead interoperability testing and validation of EV charging systems, including OCPP 1.6/2.0.1 protocols and vehicle compatibility standards (DIN70121 and ISO15118).
- Provide technical expertise during pre-sales and post-sales activities, including product specifications, installation planning, and system commissioning.
- Conduct systematic troubleshooting using data mining, log analysis, and performance testing to resolve complex technical issues.
- Support RFI/RFP processes by reviewing technical specifications and contributing to product positioning strategies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product management, engineering, and operations to ensure successful project delivery.
- Travel to customer sites, trade shows, and various locations to provide technical support and represent the company.
Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in application engineering, preferably in electrical or power electronics industries.
- Demonstrated knowledge of communication protocols including TCP/IP, CAN bus, and Modbus.
- Experience with structured product testing and documentation.
- Background in customer requirement assessment and translation into technical specifications.
- Strong project management and presentation skills.
- Excellent communication abilities and proven track record of successful customer relationship management.
Preferred Qualifications - Previous experience in the EV charging or solar industry.
- Knowledge of digital hardware and power electronics control systems.
