Job Description

We are seeking a IT Network Engineer

  • Client: Japanese IT Company
  • Working Location: Houston, TX (Downtown) Hybrid (3 days per week at office)
  • Working hours (Optional): 9:00- 17:00
  • Employment Type: Full-time
  • Salary: Base $100,000 -110,000 per year + Full Benefit (Health, Dental, Vision insurance, 401K, PTO etc.)

Job Overview

1. IT Infrastructure system consultation:

  1. Develop and lead IT infrastructure related technological projects for clients.
  2. Create and present business proposals to improve customer’s business value or to enhance business efficiency.
  3. Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify growth opportunities.
  4. Review and analyze company information, including business process, IT related documents, technological data to plan projects.
  5. Assist clients to check their IT infrastructure complies with company’s guidelines and compliance standards.

2. Project Management:

  1. Plan and implement network, security, and some other IT infrastructure related projects.
  2. Communicate with customers to help define project scopes, goals, and deliverables.
  3. Define tasks and required resources.
  4. Manage project team.
  5. Create and oversee project budgets.
  6. Allocate project resources.
  7. Create schedule and project timeline.
  8. Oversee project logistics to meet project schedule.
  9. Track deliverables.
  10. Support and direct project team.
  11. Advocate on behalf of team members by securing adequate resources for success.
  12. Lead quality assurance.
  13. Monitor and report on project progress.
  14. Present to stakeholders reports on progress as well as problems and solutions.
  15. Implement and manage changes when necessary to meet project outputs.
  16. Evaluate and assess results of the project.
  17. Establish and maintain good relationships with IT vendors and fully utilize, manage, and control their capabilities.

3. Network engineering, management, and operation:

  1. System engineering as follows:
  • Design, implement, and refine product development, testing, and manufacturing processes.
  • Manage staff and assign tasks to engineering and technical personnel.
  • Lead teams in the development of new products, solutions, and processes.
  • Strive to improve efficiency and sustainability of processes and product designs, and to reduce waste.
  • Secure the resources needed for teams to excel, including researching and proposing capital investments.
  • Communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders, including investors and potential customers.
  • Maintain high level expertise in their field or sector.
  • Assure that processes meet quality and safety compliance guidelines.
  • Collaborate with other team leaders and departments.
  • Forge and maintain relationships with suppliers and customers.

- Data Center management and operation

  1. Colocation service management and maintenance.
  2. Cloud (IaaS/PaaS) service management and maintenance.

- Security system engineering as follows:

  1. Define security requirements, designing, implementation, management, and operation such as:
  • Firewall / Web application firewall
  • Intrusion Detection System / Intrusion Detection and Prevention
  • Multi-Factor Authentication
  • Network Access Control
  • Endpoint Detection and Response / Managed Detection and Response
  • Proxy
  • Anti-virus / malware

- Network system engineering as follows:

  1. Define network requirements, designing, implementation, management and operation such as:
  • Router
  • Switch
  • Firewall
  • Wi-Fi system
  • MPLS network service
  • Secure Access Service Edge (SASE)
  • SD-WAN / SD-LAN
  • Remote VPN solution
  • WAN Optimization and Acceleration

- Telephone system engineering as follows:

  1. Define system requirements, designing, implementation, management, and operation such as:
  • On-premises PBX
  • Cloud PBX services

- Video conference system, digital whiteboard selection, implementation, management, and maintenance.

Requirement:

  1. Excellent customer service skills.
  2. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  3. Strong documentation skills.
  4. Comprehensive understanding of network services and networks such as TCP/IP.
  5. Technical analysis, design, and planning skills.
  6. Technical knowledge and experience and understanding of system engineering concepts, principles, theories, and overall process.
  7. Analyzing, solving problems and developing recommendations and solutions; reporting skills and working effectively with manager, clients, vendors, peers, and subordinates and communicating effectively both orally and in writing.
  8. Knowledge of latest technology trends, technical management, information analysis, data center management and data governance.
  9. Experienced in PMI Project Management principles.
  10. Team-oriented approach (i.e. Colleagues, Clients, and Vendors).
  11. Bachelor degree is preferred.
  12. 4-7 years of System Engineering Experience and 2-4 years of Project Management Experience is required.
