We are currently recruiting for a Quality Assurance Technician to join our team! The Quality Assurance Technician will be responsible for inspecting raw materials and work in process with finished goods to ensure compliance with product specifications.

Finds, accumulates, and analyzes data and evidence, transforming these into actionable information, and acts on that information to drive quality improvement. Self-motivated, results-driven, improvement engine. Analyzes and solves quality problems, prepares inspection plans and instructions, selects sampling plans, prepares procedures, trains inspectors, performs audits, analyzes costs and other quality data, and applies fundamental statistical methods for process control and optimization. Is, or is willing to become, an ASQ Certified Quality Technician and a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt.

  • Applies quality tools and techniques such as 5S, lean six sigma, cost of poor quality, cause and effect diagrams, flowcharts, check sheets, Pareto charts, and scattergrams
  • Specifies and implements data requirements for statistical process control and optimization
  • Specifies requirements, assists with process qualifications, and verifies process capability using Cpk generation and analysis
  • Uses and overseas measurement and test equipment, controls, maintenance, and calibration
  • Understands and applies inspection concepts, techniques, and processes
  • Conducts quality audits
  • Identifies and generates corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs)
  • Follows-through with action owners, driving actions to closure
  • Aggressively drives a prevention mindset to build quality into processes, products, and services
  • Is cool under fire, focuses teams and team members on a logical, data-driven approach to problem solving and problem prevention
  • Coaches and mentors others to permeate this mindset throughout the organization
  • Actively solicits feedback from, and communicates changes to, all stakeholders
  • Provides training and guidance to other team members in regard to quality
  • Leads cross-functional teams
  • Develops and drives improvement projects
Qualifications:

QUALIFICATIONS

      • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to identify, assess, and resolve complex problems
      • Excellent analytical and math skills
      • Strong computer and information technology skills
      • Strong attention to detail
      • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
      • Ability to persuade others to change existing practices
      • Solid understanding of quality management systems, such as ISO standards
      • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as within a team
      • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, requirements, geometric dimensions and tolerances, and designs

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE 2-year technical degree, or 4+ years of practical experience demonstrating mastery of quality improvement and assurance.

LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, requirements, geometric dimensions and tolerances, designs documents, ergonomic best practices, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to build and populate reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively with groups of employees.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Probability and statistics, particularly as these pertain to statistical process control, sampling plans, defect rates, etc.

REASONING ABILITY The voice of the customer. Putting oneself in the perspective of the customer, and reasoning through solutions to meet or exceed customer expectations. Solving problems in a way that is good for our customers, our employees, and ongoing financial performance. Brings original and creative ideas.
