Job Description

Responsible for leading on software development projects, including design, development, documentation, testing and modification of existing and new software applications as per established standard techniques and procedure. Participate in architecture design, performance monitoring, product evaluation, and buy versus build decisions. Track and communicate development project status, dependencies, and risks and mitigation strategies to the project team and leadership. Provide technical expertise to the business, ensuring alignment with business objectives and strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Execute and/or oversee creation of design documents and detailed engineering specifications based on complex business/user requirements (BRD/URD). Write high-quality code that adheres to established standards, procedures, and techniques. Maintain integrity of existing program logic, ensuring alignment with specifications.
  2. Partner with business stakeholders and project teams to gather, clarify requirements, ensuring a deep understanding of project goals and objectives. Utilize this information to plan and lead the development process effectively, identify potential issues, and execute corrective actions in driving project’s success. Participate in project design walkthroughs to evaluate interactions between applications and design effective interfaces.
  3. Assist and lead the code review process to ensure development work meets standard specifications, including peer review and external code reviews to ensure objective feedback. Develop, revise, and maintain high-quality documentation and provide required input into operation support manuals and user guides. Create and properly archive all project-related documentation.
  4. Ensure thorough unit testing of all codes prior to release to the QA (quality assurance) team. Collaborate with QA team in resolving test issues and timely responses to enable rigorous testing. Approve code for production and deployment.

Required Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, MIS, or related equivalent experience.
  2. 7+ years of practical experience and proven success with the design and build of complex software applications in multiple environments.
  3. 7+ years of coding experience and/or designing in multiple programming languages.
  4. Exposure to power Platform, visual basic and MS-office specifically database management system access.
  5. Solid analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use statistical analysis and modeling. Ability to identify patterns, potential issues and then translate those into functional and test requirements.
  6. Experience in providing accurate, timely & responsive services on complex problems.
  7. Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships within the department and across business functions.
  8. Ability to effectively manage the test life cycle, ensuring user requirements are met and stakeholders are aligned with solution.
  9. Strong written and verbal technical communication skills.
  10. Ability to handle changing priorities, manage multiple tasks and work within tight timeframes and deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Experience of asset management and familiarity around data flow across back, middle and front office.
  2. Professional understanding of mutual retail pooled products.
  3. Experience in technology stack .NET Framework, C#, Web Services, SQL, Shell Scripting, Angular, React, JAVA etc.
