Publisher's Circulation Fulfillment Senior Applications Developer

Location: Woburn, Massachusetts

This is a full-time exempt, full stack Senior developer position, responsible for the development, support, and maintenance of PCF’s “DART software suite & ecosystem” in partnership with IT Applications, IT Operations, Customer Experience, Sales, and Distribution Services teams.

The Senior Developer will consult with a myriad of internal and external professionals on key decisions and design facilitation including Senior IT Management, IT Operations, business stakeholders, internal clients, vendors, and 3rd party partners.

While relying on the broad direction of the VP, IT, the Senior Developer will utilize creativity, expertise, judgment, and collaboration to gather and refine user requirements, develop detailed designs, plan, build, and test assigned standalone enhancements and new functionality. The Senior Developer will also mentor and work closely with IT consultants to provide technical help and manage their technical tasks and priorities.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

1. Writes .Net application/interface code from specifications conforming to established methodology and standards.
2. Develops and maintains Web APIs (WCF, REST, .NET Core web).
3. Works competently on SQL Database.
4. Develops Mobile Apps using Xamarin and MAUI.
5. Manages developers and projects while working with teams across different time zones.
6. Develops processes, UIs, and plug-in components to support the business.
7. Develops and conducts unit tests of either new or modified applications.
8. Leverages experience with ESRI software tools to develop and test GIS, route optimization, Crystal Reports, .NET, and web applications to fulfill our delivery fulfillment business requirements.
9. Enhances mapping solutions/python scripts using ARC GIS Server or other tools.
10. Manages a body of route-based reports served by Crystal Reports.
11. Enhances applications that work with the ‘DART’ optimization engine.
12. Monitors processes, events, and schedules; troubleshoots and resolves system operational process issues.
13. Writes or revises program documentation, operations documentation, and user guides in accordance with standards.
14. Analyzes, reviews, and alters programs to increase operating efficiency or adapt to new requirements.
15. Completes necessary training to maintain expertise in applications development technologies.
16. Provides technical and operational expertise and leadership to the development team.
17. Supervises and leads the development of applications and changes to all .NET and Web production systems.
18. Implements policies, procedures, and guidelines, including end-to-end operations monitoring.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

1. Skilled in .NET (C#, ASP.NET, .NET Core) applications development programming.
2. Proficient with Web Services development and deployments - knowledge of APIs (SOAP and RESTful) including WCF Framework and .NET Core web APIs.
3. Experienced in ASP.NET, Blazer UI development.
4. Hands-on experience with SQL Queries and Stored Procedures in SQL Server 2019 or later version.
5. Experience with mobile app development - Xamarin and MAUI is a plus.
6. Experience with Azure environment, microservices, and dockers.
7. Familiarity with GIS, Route Optimization, or systems to support logistical operations is preferred.
8. Able to manage and successfully complete multiple assignments using project management methods to meet quality, budget, and time requirements.
9. Experience in SDLC methodology implementation.
10. Demonstrated expertise with change management and key stakeholder communications.
11. Track record of timely solutions delivery and exceptional customer service.

Experience, Education and Certifications Required

1. Requires 5+ years of related work experience.
2. Bachelor’s/master’s degree in computer science or equivalent is preferred.
3. Certifications in required skillset is a plus.
