The Systems Engineer will assist with planning and oversee expansion and implementation of CESO’s cloud-based environment. They will coordinate with engineering teams to assist with technical aspects of new technologies insertion activities and support the on-premises cluster and AWS cloud environment.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Experience serving as a technical liaison between other system engineers, network engineers, and non-technical managers.
- Experience with system administration and Linux administration.
- Experience administering system rights and responsibilities for on-premises cluster and cloud infrastructures.
- Experience with AWS cloud services, including storage options, and cloud-based services.
- Experience with VMWare’s virtualization technology.
- Ability to decompose IT systems and identify dependencies and relationships with other IT systems and to integrate those systems throughout a digital environment.
- Ability to assess IT systems across their entire lifecycle from conceptualization to retirement.
- Perform systems engineering activities within a hybrid, multi-cloud environment.
- Perform using multiple disciplines supporting systems engineering such as cybersecurity engineering.
- Demonstrated ability to integrate both technical and business aspects of an IT solution, including aligning technical and business stakeholders.
- Ability to interact comfortably with senior leaders.
- Experience working in a high op-temp environment.
- Exceptional communication skills, capable of effectively articulating complex technical concepts and collaborating across diverse teams.
Qualifications:
BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Information Science, Engineering or a related technical subject. Work experience can be used/combined with education.
- 12+ years of experience as a System Engineer, Technical Architect, or similar role.
- 3-5 years of experience with cloud computing environments such as Amazon Web Services (AWS).
- Candidate must possess an active DOD TS with SCI eligibility.
- Candidate must be willing to take and maintain a CI/Poly.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience with DISA and DISA’s support to mission partners.
- AWS Solution Architect – Associate certification.
- Ability to apply IT frameworks such as Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) to solutions and recommendations.
- Experience in designing and implementing datacenter infrastructures, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and efficiency.
