Leidos is actively hiring for a Software Engineer to join our team in Colorado Springs, CO.
Looking for a change? Leidos has opportunities in the Integrated Tactical Warning/Attack Assessment (ITW/AA) and Missile Defense mission areas. The work includes trade studies, system engineering, model-based system engineering, portfolio analysis, software development demonstration, and product testing and deployment to Cheyenne Mountain. Leidos is focused on finding the best people, processes, and tools that will provide solutions in data integration and fusion, data analytics, data mining, predictive analytics, data visualization, and decision support tools.
This position will report directly to the Chief Architect.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain mission-critical software in support of missile defense systems.
- Document and communicate proposed software solutions with integrated, cross-functional engineering teams in a fast-paced, highly technical environment.
- Develop Class and Sequence Diagrams in UML to align with modular design patterns.
- Stay up-to-date on state-of-the-art programming techniques and software technologies.
- Participate in software design and code reviews to ensure delivery of quality products and enhance skill sets.
- Create software solutions utilizing established industry standards.
- Work with the System Engineering Team to schedule, synchronize, and execute demonstration capabilities to customers.
- Collaborate with third-party contractors and stakeholders on any potential regression coding due to deployment delays.
- Redesign existing software components to allow containerization of the applications.
- Identify components that do not comply with modularity rules and work with developers and customers to aid in compliance.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with 4 to 6 years of experience.
- Currently possess Secret clearance.
- Experience coding in C++ and Java.
- Experience modeling software utilizing UML.
- Experience developing micro-services and working with containerization.
- Ability to work independently and as part of an engineering team.
- Ability to convey technical ideas in a clear, logical fashion.
- Ability to work on multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
- Experience with agile software development process.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in an associated field.
- Experience with missile warning and missile defense.
- Understanding of missile warning message types.

Pay Range:
Pay Range: $85,150.00 - $153,925.00
