What You'll Do:
The Quality Assurance Technician performs quality checks to make sure our products and fermentation processes are within the quality metrics provided in the Quality Management System. Maintains laboratory and laboratory inventory, including finished product library. Sets up sensory checks for product quality and acceptability. Logs data into spreadsheets and uploads into quality shared drive. Work closely with brewery and production to maintain efficient operations and high-quality standards. Utilizes initiative to investigate, hold and report on out of specification products and processes. Must have excellent attention to detail and be able to work with some flexibility in schedule as production or quality team may require.

  • Upholding Boochcraft's company values and representing Boochcraft with professionalism.
  • Following good laboratory practices and all safety protocol.
  • Adhering to the Quality Management System and providing inputs toward continually improving its scope and effectiveness.
  • Understanding and following standard operating procedures.
  • Performing lab analysis such as: titratable acidity, alcohol and density analysis, cell counts, measuring CO2 and DO, as well as can seam analysis.
  • Sample collection at various points during the process using ASBC method of Aseptic Sampling.
  • Prepare media and plates as needed.
  • Data capturing and analytics using standard deviations to interpret trends occurring in the brewery.
  • Set up and administering sensory panels.
  • Cleaning and organizing lab space.
  • Assisting production when/if needed.
  • Working with innovation group as needed.
Requirements
What You'll Need:
  • Education: He/she must hold a Bachelor's degree in the Sciences from an accredited institution, microbiology preferred. It is preferred that he/she has a thorough understanding of quality control methods with a special focus on biological and chemical processes as well as associated analytics.
  • Preferred Experience: 2 years' laboratory experience, ideally supporting a high-volume production plant where he/she gathered and analyzed data used to monitor and control production quality.
  • License or Certification: He/she must hold a valid Driver's License.
  • Specialized Skills: He/she must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Suite. Must have understanding and experience with analytic equipment including titrators, densitometers, and spectrometers.
  • Preferred skills: Experience in plating, growing and analyzing complex cultures of yeast, bacteria.
  • Physical Requirements: He/she must able to perform physical activities which include but are not limited to: lifting, bending over, kneeling, twisting, climbing on ladders, stooping, crouching, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
This position will pay between $21.50 to $25.50 per hour
