Job Description:

We are seeking a Prepared Foods Team Member to join our team. This role is responsible for providing excellent customer service, preparing and serving a variety of hot and cold foods, and maintaining a clean and sanitary working environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Cut, prepare, and serve hot and cold foods, including meats, cheeses, sandwiches, burritos, wraps, salad, and pizza.
  • Sample products to customers.
  • Stock hot and cold cases and displays with prepared foods from the kitchen, walk-in preparation, and refrigerators.
  • Check in-stock product dates to ensure freshness and rotate when necessary.
  • Bail and consolidate recyclables.
  • Assist Team Leader in organizing and displaying volume and seasonal items.
  • Complete spoilage, sampling, temperature, and sweep worksheets as required.
  • Assist with periodic inventory checks.
  • Arrive on time, appropriately groomed, dressed, and ready to work; work all scheduled shifts and attend required trainings and meetings.
  • Provide excellent customer service, address customer needs in a timely and effective manner, and model suggestive selling techniques.
  • Maximize sales potential through proper procedures for prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising product.
  • Follow established procedures, including Weights and Measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Sell proactively.
  • Learn basic knowledge of all products carried in the department.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills and willingness to work as part of a team.
  • Deliver information in a clear and respectful manner to fellow Team Members, customers, and vendors.
  • Meet customer service expectations and standards in all interactions with customers, vendors, and Team Members.
  • Follow directions and procedures; effective time management and organization skills.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
  • Lift 50 pounds.
  • Stand/walk 6-8 hours in an 8-hour work day.
  • Use hands for single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling.
  • Perform bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching motions.
  • Exposure to FDA-approved cleaning chemicals.
  • Work in temperatures below 32 degrees Fahrenheit (freezing), 32-40 degrees Fahrenheit (refrigerators), above 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Ability to work in wet and dry conditions.
  • Work flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Use tools and equipment, including knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery.
