As the Telecommunications Technician, you will be responsible for the timely delivery of Western Power Telecommunication programs.
Your Role in Action
- Perform complex level technical tasks associated with fault & performance management of Western Power’s Communications systems and other customer networks involving specialist computer programs and configurations to meet the required operational performance and service level agreements.
- Provide frontline technical support to the Operations and Maintenance team.
- Manage, prepare, plan, and coordinate complex work schedules, including estimates, budgets, and cost management for Operations and Maintenance activities covering installation, commissioning, construction, operation, and maintenance of Western Power or Customer facilities.
- Undertake technical investigations and prepare required reports on systems & network performance, fault analysis, processes of work, and asset utilisation.
- Provide specialist guidance and share technical knowledge and experience to others within the immediate and wider teams.
What Makes You a Great Fit
- Advanced Diploma in Electrotechnology / Electronics / Telecommunications or Radio / Telecommunications Trade Certificate.
- Sound understanding of the integration of multiplex equipment, microwave radio equipment, and ethernet devices to the existing telecoms network.
- Project, contract, and maintenance management systems and tools.
- Continuous improvement, training, and coaching techniques.
- In-depth knowledge of engineering standards, regulations, and procedures applicable to the Section and Stream.
- MS Office systems, Word, Excel, and/or Access. Ellipse and scheduling/work management systems.
- Team player and a role model to less experienced Communications Technicians.
- Be innovative and use appropriate technology to improve and manage the Telecommunications Networks.
