Job Description

A well-established regional firm is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join their dynamic team. Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to legal professionals.
  • Prepare, edit, and format legal documents, correspondence, and memoranda.
  • Manage and organize case files, both electronic and physical.
  • Coordinate and schedule appointments, meetings, and court appearances.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, attorneys, and court personnel.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing communications, including mail, email, and phone calls.
  • Assist with document management, including scanning, filing, and retrieval.
  • Maintain accurate time records and assist with billing processes.
  • Assist with trial preparation, including exhibit and document management.
  • Conduct basic legal research and assist with drafting legal documents.
  • Utilize document management systems and court e-filing platforms.
  • Other administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 2-3+ years of experience in a legal support role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
  • Experience with document management systems.
  • Ability to transcribe legal dictation.
  • Knowledge of legal principles and practices.
