CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Budget Creation & Management

  • Responsible for gathering and/or reviewing financial data from various departments to develop comprehensive budget models.
  • Analyze historical data and market trends to inform budget projections.
  • Work with the CFO and Controller to establish budget parameters and guidelines for each department.
  • Educate and assist departmental leadership as they develop their budgets to ensure a comprehensive and accurate budget.
  • Present budget materials to senior management for review and approval.
  • Be subject matter expert for budget & forecasting software (currently COGNOS, moving to Elite 3E AFS)

Financial Forecasting

  • Identifying potential risks and opportunities impacting financial performance of the Firm.
  • Able to develop “what-if” scenarios to assess different strategies or to highlight different outcomes from as originally forecasted.
  • Update existing budget for actual and adjust forecast based on changing market or strategic forces.
  • Perform complex analysis over projected spending under various scenarios.
  • Work across all departments to update forecasts as needed.
  • Analyze and report on any variances to budget and/or forecast.

New Financial System Implementation

  • The Firm is embarking on a major financial system conversion to 3E.As part of this conversion, a new budgeting and forecasting module will be implemented. This role will play a major part in the design and implementation of the budgeting and forecasting module.
  • Performs other related duties and assignments as requested.


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance; Master’s Degree preferred
  • At least five (5) years of work experience in budgeting and forecasting
  • Software knowledge
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word)
  • ERP software, with focus on financial reporting and forecasting module experience. 3E experience a plus.
  • Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, responsiveness, and customer service, while observing and ensuring confidentiality of personnel and Firm information.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and prioritize responsibilities
  • Attention to detail

The anticipated pay range for this role is $145,000-$150,000 in Chicago. The actual offered rate for this position will be determined based on several factors, including qualifications and experience, geographic location, education, external market data, and consideration of internal equity.
