Position Summary:

The Senior Stationary Engineer will supervise and lead an assigned shift operations team, ensuring the efficient operation, maintenance, and repair of plant equipment. This hands-on role requires expertise in a range of industrial systems, including turbines, boilers, compressors, and electrical switchgear.

Additionally, this role plays a key part in maintaining compliance with safety and environmental regulations while optimizing plant performance.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Supervise and direct the shift operations team in daily plant activities.
• Ensure compliance with plant safety and environmental programs.
• Operate, maintain, and repair critical equipment, including:
• Combustion and steam turbine generators
• High-pressure boilers
• Absorption and centrifugal chillers
• Air and gas compressors
• Diesel generators
• High- and low-voltage switchgear
• Chemical treatment and reverse osmosis systems
• Computerized control systems (DCS, PLC, SCADA)
• Conduct regular inspections and accurately log equipment performance data.
• Read and interpret P&IDs, blueprints, and electrical diagrams to troubleshoot and optimize plant operations.
• Analyze and adjust water chemistry for chillers, cooling towers, and boiler systems.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure operational reliability.
• Ensure smooth shift turnovers through effective written and verbal communication.
• Take on additional responsibilities as required by plant operations.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in power generation operations, plant maintenance, or equivalent boiler/turbine experience.
• Strong process analysis, troubleshooting, and rotating equipment maintenance skills.
• Ability to work in confined spaces and at elevated heights, climb ladders, lift up to 40 pounds, and perform tasks in high-temperature environments.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to work independently while following established procedures.
• Must be Campus, Plant, and Lead qualified through the UCSF PCUP qualification training program.
• Willingness to work rotating 12-hour shifts, including overtime, holidays, nights, and weekends as needed.
