Job Description

Job Title: Quality Control Manager

Reports To: General QC Manager

FLSA Status: Exempt

Job Purpose:

The Quality Control Manager is responsible for ensuring vendor compliance with minimum food safety requirements, maintaining accurate documentation, tracking regulatory updates, and supporting quality assurance initiatives within the distribution center.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Research and maintain state-level food code regulations, including requirements for distribution crew members, weights and measures, retail unit pricing, and public health programs.
  • Review, track, and file public health inspection reports.
  • Ensure 100% accuracy of cheese and finished goods inventory.
  • Oversee and enforce QA programs, including dock temperature checks and quality maintenance.
  • Upload and maintain current, accurate PSIs for each item in the internal database.
  • Input relevant PSI information into the allergen database.
  • Track and post annual third-party vendor audits, flagging non-compliant vendors for follow-up.
  • Monitor and document daily warehouse product rejections in the QA share file.
  • Maintain FDA vendor tracking and provide quarterly updates to the compliance team.
  • Assist with special quality assurance projects as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Strong data entry and computer skills.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to operate and become certified on all warehouse equipment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to resolve issues efficiently.
  • Understanding of common distribution center practices.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends.

Computer Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Reasoning Ability:

  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels of management.
  • Strong leadership and problem-solving skills to manage a diverse workforce.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a computer.

Work Environment:

  • Ability to work in a distribution center environment with varying temperatures.
  • Fast-paced setting requiring attention to detail and adaptability.
