Northstrat is seeking a highly motivated Data Scientist to support the analysis of mission critical and mission-support data sets.

Essential Job Responsibilities

1. The ideal candidate will have worked with big data systems, complex structured and unstructured data sets, and have supported government data analysis and analytic development efforts in the past.
2. The candidate will have experience authoring data transforms and statistical analytics for data quality and conformance validation.
3. To excel in the position, the candidate shall have a strong attention to detail, be able to understand technical complexities, and have the willingness to learn and adapt to the situation.
4. The candidate will work both independently and as part of a team to accomplish client objectives.

Requirements

1. Must have 9 years total relevant experience plus the following:
2. BS in Engineering, Computer Science, or technical degree or industry experience equivalent (+4 years relevant experience can substitute for a BS degree)
3. Must have an active Security Clearance top secret and be SCI eligible
4. Strong skills in Python, especially for data manipulation (e.g., Pandas, NumPy) and machine learning / natural processing (e.g., Scikit-Learn, PyTorch, SpaCy, NLTK)
5. Fluency with data extraction, custom translation development, and loading including data prep and labeling to enable data analytics.
6. Familiarity with various log formats such as JSON, XML, and others.
7. Must be willing to achieve required skill certification promptly. Prefer current DoD IAT II or higher certification.
8. Willingness to do a programming challenge during the interview process.
9. Experience with Jupyter Notebooks, Python Data Science Libraries.
10. Experience with ML-OPS and related tools (e.g., MLflow, Sagemaker, Bedrock) and ability to build interactive, insightful dashboards for monitoring ML models.
11. Experience with NOSQL databases such as Accumulo a plus.
12. Familiarity with deploying models as APIs or within containerized environments (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) to serve and monitor models in production.
13. Experience with Large Models (LLMs) / transformer models.
14. Experience with writing, updating Java APIs.
15. Prior experience supporting cyber and/or network security operations within a large enterprise, as either an analyst, engineer, architect, or developer.
16. Experience using restful APIs.
17. Familiarity with Agile Project team and task management environment.
18. Experience with Zoom/Teams/Meet style team meetings.
