Description:

Client is looking for an experienced Electronics Test Technician for our Corcom Filters. These Export-Controlled products are complex, hand-wired and soldered assemblies. The ideal candidate will perform electrical and environmental testing on the products per our test plans and manufacturing documentation, perform quality checks according to established processes and document the results as required by our quality procedures. Every team member is responsible for maintaining housekeeping and organization of the work area as well as following the company's EH&S policies and procedures. The position is based in Mundelein, Illinois and will report to the Lab Manager.

The company's Manufacturing and Process Development Engineering Teams significantly impact LEANPD driven new product development projects, driving for excellence in existing manufacturing technologies and methods and striving to implement new manufacturing technologies to provide improved process and tolerance control. They interface with product development and manufacturing engineering, ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of this critical interface and maintain equipment calibration. They support Product Development in the optimization of designs and piece parts for manufacturability by realizing sample tooling/products/prototypes. They also design, develop, and qualify tooling and processes to meet company quality and production standards, document all processes and tooling in applicable company systems, support supply chain to verify supplier compliance and capability, initiate and implement programs to continuously improve quality, cost and cycle time and adhere to all appropriate specifications, regulatory requirements and customer requirements.


Responsibilities

• Perform necessary electrical/mechanical inspection to confirm compliance with quality standards

• Maintain accurate test and inspection records.

• Reading blueprints and instructions to comprehend the quality expectations for the product

• Perform electrical testing (continuity, series resistance, series inductance, capacitance, insulation resistance, dielectric withstand voltage, insertion loss, etc.) in accordance with company standards

• Perform environmental testing (thermal shock) in accordance with company standards

• Utilize various types of measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, scale/ruler and go/no-go gages.

• Data entry in Microsoft products (Word, Excel, etc.)

• Flex in to support manufacturing personnel


What your background should look like:

• Electrical/mechanical inspection and testing knowledge: solderability, series resistance measurement, Dielectric Withstand Voltage testing (DWV), insulation resistance testing, measurement of inductance and capacitance. (Insertion loss testing a plus.)

• First Article inspection experience preferred (demonstrated attention to detail)

• Mechanical inspection knowledge (reading blueprints, inspection measurement skills) and testing experience especially in an electronic manufacturing environment preferred.

• Experience reading blueprints, technical documents, drawings and diagrams

• Enthusiasm to learn and complete non-routine and non-standardized duties and tasks

• Experience working safely with electrical test equipment, small hand tools, assembly and process ovens, and/or chemicals and electricity.

• Willingness to work with others in a team environment.

• Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions.

• History of meeting quality and productivity standards.

• Good written and verbal communication skills

• Detail-oriented with multi-tasking abilities and the ability to detect and correct issues efficiently.

• History of accurately gathering and recording test data

• Ability to work independently, under general supervision


Education/Work Experience:

Minimum of 5 years of work experience in Electronics

Technical Electronics trade school required
