Production Designer IV

Summary:

We are seeking a talented Production Designer with 5+ years of experience in product design systems and a strong background in visual asset production. As a key member of our design team, you will collaborate closely with product designers, content design, & engineers to ensure seamless execution and delivery. Your role will encompass managing our design system component libraries, maintaining an evolving visual design system of icons & illustrations, managing our design system component libraries, and using problem-solving skills to develop operational efficiencies. This position requires a strong attention to detail, a passion for design consistency, and the ability to balance multiple projects and priorities.


Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with designers, producers, engineers, and stakeholders to translate concepts into production-ready designs
  • Create, maintain, and optimize design systems, including component libraries, sticker sheets, and asset collections
  • Update and maintain component specs and documentation to ensure consistency and adherence to guidelines
  • Collaborate with product designers to explore new variants of components
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of design workflows and processes
  • Asset management of illustrations, icons, & documents.
  • Ensure the quality and accuracy of design deliverables through design audits across platforms
  • Provide help and guidance in relevant feedback groups and troubleshoot design file issues
  • Stay updated with industry trends, design tools, and emerging technologies
  • Assist in creating design prototypes and interactive elements
  • Contribute to team retros and other rituals that help improve team processes


Hard Skills:

  • Expertise in Figma, including familiarity with variables/tokens
  • Experience with design system documentation, toolkit development, and stewardship
  • Expertise in design systems, component libraries, asset management, and visual systems assets (e.g., illustrations, icons)
  • Solid understanding of design principles and atomic design
  • Familiarity with iOS, Android, WWW design, and 3D surfaces
  • Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop)
  • Understanding of various asset formats and their optimization (e.g., SVG, PNG, JPG, GIF, KF)
  • Proficiency with Google Drive, Microsoft Office, and Github


Soft Skills:

  • Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, and solve problems in real-time.
  • Proactivity and independently work as our team operates often in a 0 to 1 space.
  • Highly detail-oriented and process-thinking with a keen eye for design consistency and quality, able to work quickly and efficiently without sacrificing standards
  • Energized by a fast-moving product organization with dynamic priorities, able to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines
  • Strong problem-solving skills with adaptability and willingness to learn new tools and technologies to address design challenges and implement solutions
  • Comfortable advocating for a design systems team and nurturing partnerships with product teams
  • Familiar with design thinking at a systems level and contributing to design systems guidance and documentation
  • Steward and champion the design system, advocating for decisions that reduce design debt and forward thinking.


Preferred Skills:

  • Experience designing for various platforms (web, mobile)
  • Knowledge of HTML/CSS/JSON and familiarity with front-end development principles
  • Familiarity with user-centered design principles, usability testing, and design accessibility standards and guidelines
  • Knowledge of prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, Framer, Origami) for interactive design
  • Knowledge of motion design and animation tools (e.g., After Effects)


Pay range is $96/hr - $101/hr per hour with full benefits available, including paid time off, medical/dental/vision/life insurance, 401K, parental leave, and more. Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. Pay is based on several factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
