Job Description

The Human Resources (HR) Director is responsible for overseeing all HR functions to support a high-performing and service-oriented team in a fast-paced, upscale dining environment. This role ensures compliance with labor laws, fosters a positive workplace culture, and implements strategic HR initiatives that align with the restaurant’s goals.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute hiring strategies to attract top-tier hospitality talent.
  • Work with department heads to identify staffing needs and succession planning.
  • Foster a positive work environment that aligns with the restaurant’s brand and values.
  • Act as a trusted advisor for employee concerns, conflict resolution, and mediation.
  • Lead initiatives for employee engagement, retention, and team-building activities.
  • Address and investigate workplace complaints or grievances professionally.
  • Work with department managers to ensure employees meet service and performance standards.
  • Oversee payroll, ensuring accuracy and compliance with wage regulations.
  • Manage employee benefits programs, including health insurance, PTO, and perks.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal labor laws, including wage and hour regulations, EEOC, OSHA, and workplace safety standards.
  • Develop and enforce policies related to workplace safety and emergency procedures.
  • Develop policies and procedures that enhance efficiency and employee satisfaction.
  • Monitor HR metrics such as turnover rates, employee engagement, and productivity.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 5+ years of HR management experience in hospitality, fine dining, or luxury service industries.
  • Must be Bilingual in English & Spanish
  • Strong knowledge of labor laws and HR best practices.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle high-pressure situations and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in HR software and payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Paycom, Workday).
  • Familiarity with high-end restaurant service standards.
