The Human Resources (HR) Director is responsible for overseeing all HR functions to support a high-performing and service-oriented team in a fast-paced, upscale dining environment. This role ensures compliance with labor laws, fosters a positive workplace culture, and implements strategic HR initiatives that align with the restaurant’s goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute hiring strategies to attract top-tier hospitality talent.
- Work with department heads to identify staffing needs and succession planning.
- Foster a positive work environment that aligns with the restaurant’s brand and values.
- Act as a trusted advisor for employee concerns, conflict resolution, and mediation.
- Lead initiatives for employee engagement, retention, and team-building activities.
- Address and investigate workplace complaints or grievances professionally.
- Work with department managers to ensure employees meet service and performance standards.
- Oversee payroll, ensuring accuracy and compliance with wage regulations.
- Manage employee benefits programs, including health insurance, PTO, and perks.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal labor laws, including wage and hour regulations, EEOC, OSHA, and workplace safety standards.
- Develop and enforce policies related to workplace safety and emergency procedures.
- Develop policies and procedures that enhance efficiency and employee satisfaction.
- Monitor HR metrics such as turnover rates, employee engagement, and productivity.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 5+ years of HR management experience in hospitality, fine dining, or luxury service industries.
- Must be Bilingual in English & Spanish
- Strong knowledge of labor laws and HR best practices.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in HR software and payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Paycom, Workday).
- Familiarity with high-end restaurant service standards.
