SUMMARY :
- The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for establishing and understanding a manufacturing environment for a line of electromechanical/ optical sensors. They will update and write procedures for assemblies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Develop, Evaluate, improve, and document manufacturing methods.
Maintain assembly methods, fixturing and tooling.
Work in a small fast paced team atmosphere to contribute to discussions in a positive and proactive manner.
Make recommendations and initiate procedures.
Coordinate inspection/assembly methods for suppliers.
Knowledge of electrotechnical assembly and box build processes.
Lead elements of the manufacturing process including of development of manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts with respect to the design.
Experience working with and knowledgeable of core concepts/industry use of PCBAs and electromechanical components (cameras, lenses, optics, etc.)
Providing technical support for the manufacturing area in the execution of world class operational performance
Ensuring robust production process capability and control, including process specification documentation
Leading process tooling development to optimize error proofing and safe and efficient labor application
Trains production operators and directs and coordinates activities involved in fabrication, operation, application and repair of mechanical or electromechanical products.
Supports ongoing production of products, mechanical and electronic assemblies, and production processes
Supports electrical testing of products, maintenance and improvements of test fixturing, failure analysis of fixturing and failed assemblies, parts
Designs fixtures and systems to support production
Works to continually improve existing products and production processes, including quality improvement, cost reduction and upgrades
Produces and maintains accurate documentation (ECO’s, Specifications, Drawings, etc.)

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE :
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Minimum of 5 years of electromechanical experience (optics field strongly preferred ).
- Experience with ISO procedures and certification
- Basic problem-solving skills
- Basic engineering skills, such as blueprint reading and geometric tolerancing.
- Experience working with measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, microscopes).
- Proficient in SolidWorks
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to create and explain reports for/to sr. management and peers.
