Job Title: Chief Operating Officer (COO)


Location: Conroe, Texas 

Employment Type: Full-time, Exempt 


Job Summary  

National Wire LLC is seeking an experienced Chief Operating Officer (COO) to lead and oversee our manufacturing operations. As a senior leader, the COO will be responsible for planning, directing, coordinating, and optimizing manufacturing processes across our facilities. This role focuses on enhancing efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness while driving continuous improvement and operational excellence. The COO will develop and lead a high-performing manufacturing team, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and professional growth. Additionally, they will ensure alignment with company objectives, regulatory compliance, and a steadfast commitment to safety and sustainability. 


Essential Duties & Responsibilities  


Main Role:  


  • Design and implement business strategies, plans, and procedures in collaboration with the CEO and other key executive members. 
  • Organize and manage production operations efficiently and effectively. 
  • Collect, evaluate, analyze, and assess production data. 
  • Ensure that each plant meets production targets. 
  • Ensure that logistics, supply chain, safety, and maintenance processes are in place and executed to maintain a timely product flow. 
  • Monitor performance metrics and align operations to achieve targets. 
  • Identify potential risks in operations and develop contingency plans. 
  • Lead, motivate, and empower local teams to drive continuous improvement. 
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards. 
  • Clearly communicate strategy, tactical priorities, and performance expectations across the organization, ensuring alignment with leadership objectives. 
  • Foster a growth-oriented, positive, and encouraging environment while holding employees and management accountable to company policies and procedures. 
  • Build, develop, and manage an operations leadership team capable of executing operational strategies. 
  • Develop and implement procedures and strategies to ensure a safe work environment. 
  • Work closely with Human Resources on employee concerns, complaints, disciplinary actions, staffing forecasts, and terminations in accordance with company policies. 
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and organizational regulations, particularly regarding safety and health. 
  • Set annual production objectives based on the company’s strategic priorities, establish necessary actions to achieve them, and measure progress weekly. 
  • Present a monthly performance report to the CEO, justifying deviations, analyzing root causes, and defining corrective and preventive actions. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned by upper management. 


Duties & Responsibilities:  


  • Oversee the company’s daily operations. 
  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement and drive best practices. 
  • Promote Lean Manufacturing methodologies, including Kaizen, SMED, DFMA, and KPI tools to enhance efficiency, product quality, and safety (HSE). 
  • Utilize KPIs to monitor, adjust, reward, and optimize company performance. 
  • Build, develop, and lead a highly motivated and world-class team to achieve the company’s manufacturing objectives. 
  • Develop and execute annual operating plans and budgets. 
  • Identify, communicate, and implement capital investments and improvement projects. 
  • Ensure departmental decisions and project plans align with the company’s strategic goals. 
  • Maintain a strong understanding of emerging technologies in wire manufacturing and competitor competencies to sustain market leadership. 
  • Ensure forecasts align with realistic and attainable organizational goals. 
  • Develop robust enterprise-wide metrics to measure operational effectiveness, ultimately achieving world-class results in areas such as on-time delivery, shipping cycle efficiency, schedule adherence (OEE), cost, and productivity. 
  • Identify risk-reduction opportunities by implementing programs focused on alternative suppliers and increasing current vendor capacities. 
  • Ensure timely and accurate operational reports that drive continuous improvement. 
  • Collaborate with senior management to create, implement, and roll out plans for operational processes, internal infrastructures, reporting systems, and company policies, all designed to foster growth, profitability, and efficiency. 
  • Motivate and engage employees at all levels, including professional staff, management, and executive leadership. 
  • Promote and enforce facility safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe work environment. 
  • Perform other related duties that support the organization’s mission. 


Strategy, Management, and Continuous Improvement  


  • Serve as a strategic business partner to the Leadership Team. 
  • Assess and evaluate operational performance with respect to long-term goals, budgets, and forecasts. 
  • Provide insights and recommendations for both short-term and long-term growth strategies. 
  • Lead and execute formal continuous improvement initiatives across the organization. 


Qualifications & Requirements  


Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Finance, or a related field (Master’s preferred). 


Experience:  


  • Minimum 7+ years in a senior management role within the manufacturing industry. 
  • At least 3+ years leading a mid-size manufacturing operation (200+ employees). 


Technical Skills:  


  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing, operational efficiency, and safety protocols. 
  • Knowledge of steel manufacturing and ASTM-1064 certification is a plus. 
  • Proficiency in MS Office, ERP systems, and data analysis tools (Power BI preferred). 


  • Languages: Fluent in English and Spanish.  


Additional Requirements:  


  • Availability for occasional travel. 
  • Strong leadership and decision-making abilities. 
  • Familiarity with family-owned business environments is a plus.
