Doherty Career Solutions is partnering with a growing team in Alexandria, MN as they search for a Quality Engineer . The Quality Engineer is responsible for developing and maintaining in-process inspection documentation to ensure product quality and compliance. This role participates in corrective and preventive action processes and updates essential quality documentation. Additionally, the Quality Engineer conducts daily incoming and final inspections, ensuring all products meet customer and industry standards. Compensation for this position will depend upon experience but likely be $27.00-35.00 an hour.
Responsibilities for this position:
- Coordinate and execute processes involving customer requirements including PPAP, PQR or other customer part qualification activities.
- Manage customer part qualification process.
- Review and evaluate new products for quality requirements and inspection needs using APQP processes.
- Complete print review and ensure tolerance can be manufactured and maintained.
- After receipt of Print and CSV file from vendor, create Control Plan, PFMEA, Process Flow, PPAP checklist, cover page, review each process step, add inspection frequency and measurement technique and error proof in-process documentation.
- Ensure itemized (ballooned) print and in-process documentation are the same.
- Ensure measurement devices are present if not prepare a request for gages needed to perform measurement for production jobs.
- Rev changes or process changes: revise current inspection plans/control plans, update and/or change and notify appropriate personnel of changes when completed. Ensure gages are ordered or on hand.
- Work as liaison between customer and Alexandria Pro-Fab on drawing issues, changes, and engineering issues.
- Customer material compliance request.
- Incoming Inspection and Final Inspection.
- Assist with on the floor inspection as needed.
- All other duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications:
- 2-year technical degree in Quality Engineering or a related field, and/or 2 years work experience in a similar/related field.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as geometry and trigonometry.
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions.
- Ability to transfer metric into decimal equivalent.
