Medical Breast Oncologist
The Division of Hematology Oncology in the Department of Medicine at Tufts Medical Center and Tufts University School of Medicine is seeking exceptional candidates for full-time academic practice in Medical Breast Oncology.

Integrated Healthcare: Tufts Medical Center, a 415-bed academic medical center conveniently located in downtown Boston, is part of the Tufts Medicine Health System.
Clinical Reach: As the first multidisciplinary breast cancer clinic in New England, our division now oversees 25,000 outpatient visits and treatments annually. The division serves diverse ethnic and economic populations from across Boston including the nearby Chinatown community.
Supported Services: We offer patients a wide range of supportive care resources and highly specialized facilities and programs including palliative care and social work services. The Asian Navigator program guides our non-English speaking Chinese and Vietnamese immigrant patients throughout their care.
Research: Through cutting edge-cancer research we can provide our patients with access to the latest treatments and diagnostics. The Neely Center for Clinical Cancer Research provides full administrative support for the Tufts Medical Center Cancer Center faculty for cooperative group, commercial and investigator-initiated studies.
Faculty: Our faculty is dedicated to patient care and has made significant contributions to the medical community and patient’s lives. Collaboration and collegiality are essential to the Division’s success.
Responsibilities:
The Medical Breast Oncologist will serve as the Medical Oncology lead for the multidisciplinary Breast Oncology Program in the Division of Hematology Oncology in the Department of Medicine at Tufts Medical Center.
Participate in weekly breast cancer specific multidisciplinary tumor board.
Patient care at Tufts Medical Center in downtown Boston with opportunities for expanded clinical reach through community offices in suburban Stoneham and Framingham.
Opportunity to lead collaboration and programmatic growth across Tufts Medicine Health System.
Inpatient oncology and consult service coverage shared among faculty.
First-call night and weekend coverage by fellows for the practice.
Academic Environment: Outstanding opportunities for innovation. Opportunities for interdisciplinary and translational research collaboration and teaching at all levels of medical education are available.
The fellowship training program in hematology and medical oncology has five fellows in each of three years with a unique structure including exclusive ambulatory experience in the first year and a mentored research project in the second and third year.
Several faculty hold current R01 awards from the NIH. Pilot funding including awards specific to breast cancer (Zamboni Research Fund, exclusive beneficiary of the Massachusetts Breast Cancer automotive license plate) and promoting interdisciplinary collaborations are available.
Programs of distinction include advanced Onco-plastics for post-treatment reconstruction and Cardio-Oncology supporting cardio-protection and collaborative care for complex patients. The Transplant and Cellular Therapy program provides a broad range of cell therapy services including CAR-T for hematologic malignancies, non-malignant and solid oncology applications in the therapeutic and research settings.
Teamwork: The Breast Oncology Program at Tufts Medical Center was the first collaborative oncology care model in New England.

Requirements:
Early career candidates with focus in Breast Cancer care are particularly encouraged to apply.
Candidates must be Board Eligible or Board Certified in Medical Oncology.
Experience in the clinical use of chemotherapeutic, targeted biologic, and immunotherapeutic agents, as well as research experience in clinical trial implementation and execution is preferred.
Compensation: Tufts Medicine offers a competitive salary commensurate with academic training and practice experience. A Tufts University School of Medicine academic appointment will be offered commensurate with qualifications.
