Our scope of services encompasses new construction, renovations, fueling systems, and energy and sustainability for a wide range of commercial and federal government clients. As a prime contractor, we have the ability to execute a full range of construction disciplines. In addition, our mechanical capability enables us to self-perform the most technically challenging mechanical, fuels and energy work. CMS Mechanical Superintendent supervises craft workers assigned to an area of responsibility; serve as liaison between the Operations, Project Management and Trades Teams to ensure that construction deliverables comply with drawings and specifications. The Mechanical Superintendent will take a lead role on-site to ensure that their projects are completed on time, on budget, and with a level of quality that meets or exceeds CMS’s and the customer's expectationsnnEssential Functions:nn· Plan the work schedule, determine manpower levels, material quantities, and equipment requirementsnn· Manage all subcontractors on the projectsnn· Monitor work performance and productivity of trades team to ensure project specifications, procedures, quality, and safety requirements are maintainednn· Manage on-site meetings and distribute schedule updates and meeting minutesnn· Complete daily documentation requirements, including productivity reports, and jobsite photosnn· Advise the Project Management Team of potential problems, work interference, and schedule difficulties; assist in working through/resolving such problems, as requirednn· Liaise with other departments to ensure all required materials, equipment, inspections, etc. are timed appropriately for project executionnn· Field-validate constructed systems comply with drawings and specifications through daily inspections and advanced software applications, such as BIM/VDCnn· Responsible for on-site safety programnn· Perform other duties as assigned, as defined by the Project Manager or Director of OperationsnnRequirementsnnEducation and Experience:nn· A Bachelors degree in Construction Management/Engineering/Science and a minimum of 2 years of related superintendent/foreman/crew leader experience; ornn· An Associates degree in Construction Management/Engineering/Science and a minimum of 3 years of related superintendent/foreman/crew leader experience; ornn· A High School diploma and a minimum of 7 years of related superintendent/foreman/crew leader experience.nnKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:nn· Excellent communication and interpersonal skillsnn· Knowledge of various construction disciplines, safety regulations, scheduling, cost control, and construction print readingnn· Proficient in Microsoft Officenn· Proficient with BIM/VDC applicationsnnSupervisor Responsibilities:nn· Reports directly to the Director of Operationsnn· Works under the supervision of an on-site Project Managernn· Will supervise/coordinate subcontractor(s) and trades team performancennWorking Conditions & Physical Requirements:nn· Lifting, moving, pushing, pulling, and/or carrying items up to 50 lbs. or morenn· Ability to perform a variety of construction tasks in all areas and aspects of the project including but not limited to scaffolding, platform work, confined spaces, and exposure to outside elementsnn· Must be able to see well, naturally or with correction and coordinate the movements of eyes, hands and fingersnn· Climbing and maintaining balance on ladders and scaffoldingnn· Standing and/or walking for long periods, often times over uneven or unpaved groundnn· Stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling or working at heights as requirednn· Must have valid driver’s license, be insurable on the company insurance plannnTravel:nn· This position will require occasional local, regional, and interstate travel to client offices, project sites, and other locations as assigned. Travel to foreign countries may be involved with some projects.
