Job Description

The Director of Operations is responsible for building and developing the organization's day-to-day activities to ensure efficiency and productivity. The key objective of the role is to ensure business activities are aligned with the overall strategic objectives of the organization with a strong focus on organizational development. Key duties include strategic planning, resource allocation, process development and improvement. This role involves collaborating with all department leaders to enhance organizational effectiveness, managing budgets, and implementing operational policies to drive the organization's success.


A successful candidate must be able to:

  • Develop and implement operational strategies, processes and objectives through working collaboratively with executives and other leaders to ensure alignment with the overall organizational strategy.
  • Responsible for driving organizational development initiatives and implementing change management processes to enhance overall business effectiveness and align organizational structure with company strategy.
  • Work both strategically and tactically to advise and execute appropriate methodologies to enable channel sales to achieve their short- and long-term objectives.
  • Efficiently allocate and manage resources, including budgets and personnel resources to maximize operational effectiveness.
  • Work closely with other departments to ensure seamless coordination and alignment of operational activities with business objectives.
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and communicate on operational performance with department leaders
  • Implement succession planning across departments to identify future leaders and ensure optimal workforce planning, guaranteeing efficient utilization of personnel resources. This involves assessing current employees for leadership qualities and identifying external candidates who align with the organization's strategic goals.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and streamline operations.
  • Identify and mitigate operational risks, ensuring compliance with regulations and industry standards.
  • All other duties as assigned


A successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Significant experience in operations management, with a proven track record in a leadership role.
  • Ability to develop and execute strategic plans to drive operational excellence.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess complex operational challenges.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective collaboration and reporting.
  • Sound decision-making ability in high-pressure situations with a focus on long-term goals.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and environments.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with teams from different departments to align goals and ensure cohesive operations.
  • Proficiency in negotiating and resolving conflicts, especially when different teams or departments have competing priorities
  • Capability to collaborate during periods of organizational change, guiding teams through transitions and ensuring a smooth adaptation to new processes.
  • Skill in actively listening to the concerns and ideas of team members, fostering an open and inclusive communication culture.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 10 plus years in a senior management position.
