Work shift 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM, M-F
The Research Assistant/ Lab Tech will provide central services support to the labs by providing sterile glassware, water, and supplies on an as-needed basis. The Research Assistant will also be responsible for autoclaving biohazard waste and ensuring that all protocols are followed, and work is performed in a safe manner.
What you should have
· High school diploma/GED required. Technical Associate's degree preferred, or equivalent amounts of relevant education and experience.
· Ability to read/interpret instructions and carry out tasks in the absence of supervision.
· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to lift and move up to 50 lbs. of weight, repetitive use of wrists, hands and fingers, to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear. The employee is repeatedly required to stand, walk, and work on their feet for prolonged periods.
· Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
· Ability to communicate and work with others in a team setting and of diverse cultural backgrounds and languages. The ability to fluently speak, write, and read English is required.
· Some mechanical knowledge is preferred.
· Ability to work in various environmental conditions.
· The applicant will be familiar with laboratory practices and sterile laboratory techniques while following all safety regulations.
