Our client is seeking a Project Manager in the Steel Industry in Des Moines, IA!

*RELOCATION AVAILABLE*

Pay : $90,000k-120,000k

Schedule : 7am-4pm + Flexible for Overtime

Location : Des Moines, Iowa

Position Type : DIRECT HIRE

Responsibilities :

• Pre-construction planning
• Labor and equipment scheduling
• Organization of small tools, safety and supplies
• Approval of major project purchases
• Coordinate material and equipment needs – both internally and externally
• Daily progress management
• Arrange fuel for project needs
• Site Specific Safety Plan & Site Specific Erection Plan
• Project hand-off/kick-off with estimator, foremen, general superintendent & safety
• Weekly resource coordination meetings
• Post Project review meetings
• Communicate Project needs between leadership teams
• Participate in monthly Work In Progress meetings
• Responsibility for project contractual and financial requirements
• Manage work to achieve profitability goals of the project and the company
• Participate in all external project meetings as required
• Change order pricing and processing
• QA/QC reporting and requirements
• Cost management
• Project billings
• Project close-out
• Make timely requests for project labor needs
• Communicate changing project requirements (scope/schedule) with superintendent and foreman

Required Skills :

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Degree in Construction Management or relevant experience in Commercial Construction
• Valid driver’s license
• Commitment to safety and an injury free workplace
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Customer oriented and focused on team success
• Computer skills - Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Bluebeam
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs

Bonus or preferred qualities:

• Experience as a commercial subcontractor
• Specific steel or precast experience including steel and precast fabrications
