A social services organization on Long Island is currently seeking a new Service Coordinator to join their team in the Suffolk County.
About the Opportunity:
- Start Date: ASAP
- Schedule: Monday to Friday
- Hours: 8am to 4pm or 9am to 5pm
- Caseload: 20 to 30 depending on complexity/workload
Responsibilities: The Service Coordinator will:
- Coordinate operations as part of the program management team
- Support program implementation efforts across the full service region
- Partner with programs to improve the efficiency and quality of the delivery of services
- Provide regular feedback to management and liaise with stakeholders regarding program goals and targets, challenges, and key updates as needed
- Develop Service Coordination team schedules, assignments, target dates and other aspects of assigned work
- Provide program and professional supervision and works with staff to address areas of improvement and opportunities for professional development
- Regularly review charts, AWARDS, and other records/systems
- Ensure project milestones/goals are met while adhering to approved budgets
- Support timely and accurate documentation of services
- Prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously and following through on issues in a timely manner
- Assist in the implementation and development of best practices in the field
- Maintain a small caseload of participants, as needed
- Perform other duties, as assigned
Qualifications: - 3+ years of experience in a Human Services related field
- Proven expertise in program management and trauma-informed supervision of staff, managers and program operations
- Experience working with low-income individuals and families; cultural competency and sensitivity in working with persons from diverse populations
- Experience navigating the complex service systems targeted to low-income families and veterans
- Solid assessment and documentation skills
- Great interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong attention to detail
- Highly organized
Desired Skills: - 2+ years of experience in a Supervisory role
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Services or related field
- Bilingual
