Sr. Estimator (Industrial Construction)Job Description:This position will require, but not be limited to, the following duties:
- Plan, coordinate and develop detailed cost estimates for industrial construction projects including civil, structural and mechanical project scope.
- Ability to interpret Client specifications as necessary to prepare labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
- Attend client pre-bid meetings at project locations nationally, take detailed notes, and ask appropriate questions.
- Coordinate estimating activities with a diverse team of Estimators and Project Leaders to complete execution plans, project schedules and final proposals on multiple projects.
- Prepare detailed and accurate bid quantity take-offs.
- Perform job cost analysis by evaluating cost factors related to the project scope.
- Prepare proposal packages and contact vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors via phone, email, and other messaging types for supporting quotations (as necessary).
- Prepare bid analysis and present for management review.
- Perform additional assignments per supervisor's and/or project management's direction.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with our extended client base.
Job Requirements - Position reports to corporate office in Deer Park, TX.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in industrial construction and estimating required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Advanced MS Excel skills are critical to success.
- Other desirable computer skills are Word, Outlook, Adobe, Power BI, and MS Project.
- Ability to read construction drawings and technical specifications.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills, along with a strong attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize and meet estimating deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Advanced knowledge in industrial construction processes.
- Experience in estimating industrial construction packages including mechanical, piping, civil and structural steel.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management or similar field.
- Must be able to travel.
