Overview

Mission of the Role:

As a Senior Microsoft 365 Administrator, your mission is to ensure the seamless operation, security, and optimization of our Microsoft 365 environment. You will leverage your expertise to manage and support the suite of Microsoft 365 applications, ensuring they meet the evolving needs of our organization. Your role is pivotal in driving productivity, collaboration, and innovation across the company by implementing best practices, troubleshooting issues, and providing strategic guidance on the adoption of new features and technologies. You will also play a critical role in safeguarding our data and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. You will be interfacing with, and managing an managed vendor to ensure best practices are followed and Apex and its users are protected.

Responsibilities and Experience:

Job responsibilities include:
  • Manage and Maintain Microsoft 365 Environment: Oversee the administration, configuration, and maintenance of Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, and other related applications.
  • Manage and Maintain Microsoft Directory environment: Oversee the administration, configuration, and maintenance of Microsoft directory services, including user and computer directory, hierarchy, permissions, and regular maintenance
  • End User Compute Support: Manage alongside the leader of enterprise architecture, service desk, and end user compute to ensure all end user compute machines are up to date, protected, and well organized within the Microsoft environment.
  • User Support and Training: Provide advanced support to end-users, troubleshoot issues, and conduct training sessions to ensure efficient use of Microsoft 365 tools.
  • Security and Compliance: Implement and manage security policies, compliance measures, and data protection protocols to safeguard organizational data within the Microsoft 365 environment.
  • System Monitoring and Performance Tuning: Monitor system performance, identify potential issues, and optimize configurations to ensure high availability and reliability of Microsoft 365 services.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with IT teams, stakeholders, and vendors to ensure seamless integration and operation of Microsoft 365 services within the organization's IT infrastructure.
  • Project Management: Lead and participate in projects related to the deployment, upgrade, and enhancement of Microsoft 365 services, ensuring timely and successful completion.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive documentation of configurations, processes, and procedures. Generate regular reports on system performance, usage, and compliance.
  • Stay Updated with Industry Trends: Keep abreast of the latest developments and best practices in Microsoft 365 and related technologies to continuously improve the organization's use of these tools.


Requisite experiences include:
  • A Bachelor's degree is required, an advanced degree or ITIL certification is desirable
  • 365 certification is desirable
  • 10-15 years of experience in Information Technology
  • A proven track record of leading technology initiatives, managing technical staff, collaborating with business leaders, and being able to work in complex environments.
  • Comfortable working in a team environment.
  • Strong business acumen, leadership/managerial skills and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Personal and professional integrity, strong communication skills and an excellent professional appearance and presentation.
  • Ability to interact with and effectively present information to employees, management, and customer
  • Demonstrated ability to document processes
  • Prior experience with mergers and acquisitions and integration acquisitions into a new environment
