Core Responsibilities
This technical role includes supervisory responsibilities. Your primary job function will be to utilize your network technology expertise to support our corporate headquarters, data centers, and control centers network.
Work independently and lead technical staff, including employees and contractors, to monitor, troubleshoot, and support all aspects of the communications infrastructure. This includes LAN and WAN networking, Cisco Wireless network, Nutanix datacenters, and departmental VLANs, covering over 100 sites within NYC, Westchester, and Orange & Rockland service territory.
Solve problems or network performance issues, assess conformance to established performance metrics, and ensure consistent adherence to operating policy and procedures.
Lead the response to network-related issues and coordinate with internal IT groups and cross-organizational teams including vendors.
Provide guidance and conduct configuration, solution and quality reviews of the IP network.
Assess the impact of vendor vulnerability announcements and collaborate with suppliers and business partners to mitigate risks.
Create system implementation plans and network diagrams, and develop policies and procedures for managing and monitoring data and voice networks.
Manage small to medium-scale projects including resources, scope, budget (costs), and project schedules.
Must be flexible and able to work off-hours as required to support deployments, resolve production problems or respond to corporate emergencies.
Perform other related tasks and assignments as required.

Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of (5)

Associate's Degree and a minimum of (7)
years of IT Network experience or
High School Diploma/GED and a minimum of (10)

Preferred Education/Experience
Bachelor's Degree In Information
Technology, Computer
Science, Engineering or
other related disciplines and a minimum of (5)
years of IT Network experience
Associate's Degree In Information
Technology, Computer
Science, Engineering or
other related disciplines and a minimum of (7)
years of IT Network experience
Relevant Work Experience
Minimum 5 years of experience in Designing, configuring, implementing IP-based infrastructure solutions. Required
Extensive knowledge and technical understanding of communication protocols and standards.
Required
Strong understanding of cyber security principles. Required
Extensive knowledge of Cisco IOS based routers and switches as well as datacenter NX-OS based switches and advanced experience in BGP and IGP routing protocols (EIGRP and OSPF). Required
Demonstrated experience using network monitoring, management, packet analysis tools.
Required
Solid understanding of architectural concepts and practices that result in reliable, maintainable, reusable, scalable and extensible solutions. Required
Excellent oral and written communication skills. Required
Experience in evaluating new technology and establishing standard design.
Required
Proficiency with network automation tools and scripting.
Required
Experienced in planning and execution, aligning team goals with organizational objectives.

Proven experience troubleshooting complex system issues and outages as well as conducting root cause analysis Required
