Job Title : Engineering Technician (Top Secret clearance required, TS/SCI preferred)

Location : Colorado Springs, CO

Duration : Permanent, Direct Hire

Pay Rate : $29-45/hr. (Based on years of experience)

Summary :

The Network Cabling Technician / Engineering Technician work on a team supporting cabling, equipment and C4ISR system installations. These positions pull, terminate and dress Category 6A and Fiber Optic cabling. Installs and documents IT equipment, cable conveyance, antennas and supporting systems. Performs assignments that are not completely standardized or prescribed. Selects or adapts standard procedures or equipment, using fully applicable precedents. The Engineering Technician receives initial instructions, equipment requirements, and advice from supervisor or engineer as needed; performs recurring work independently; work is reviewed for technical adequacy or conformity with instructions.

Responsibilities :

• Contribute to all phases of the infrastructure installation or upgrade.
• Pulling and dressing of fiber optic and copper cables.
• Installation of racks and all peripheral equipment.
• Rack and Stacking of equipment in racks.
• Termination of copper cable up to CAT6A and SM/MM Fiber single strand to MPO/MTP.
• Solving issues related to cables and networks.
• Testing and recording of all cables.

Qualifications :

• An associate degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Technology, or Information Technology
• Completion of four (4) years of U.S. military service with one of the following technical ratings – Electronics Technician with Advanced Training, Interior Communication (IC) with Advanced Training, Information System Technician (IT), Radioman (RM) (legacy rating), or Data System Technician (DS) (legacy rating)
• Completion of a formal two year or more contractor apprenticeship in a related field that included at least six months of formal classroom training that addressed electrical circuit theory, electromagnetic radiation, and other disciplines related to C4ISR installations Credentials.
• Top Secret Security Clearance

Essential Functions of the Job :

• Stationary positioning; including sitting for extended periods of time.
• Repetitive motions, including the use of fine motor skills in the arms, hands and fingers.
• Communication with others to exchange information.

The Environment for This Job Will Involve :

• Indoor elements with expected temperatures.
• Interactions with other individuals.
