*About the Role:*
Ghost RX is currently seeking experienced and qualified Ultrasound Technologists to join our dynamic team at the Portland Veterans Affairs Medical Center. As an Ultrasound Technologist, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality diagnostic imaging to our veteran community. You'll work alongside a dedicated team, performing complex ultrasound examinations while ensuring patient care and safety.
*Key Responsibilities:*
* Perform routine and specialized ultrasound exams, including abdominal, liver, renal, GYN, and small parts scanning
* Ensure image quality (positioning, labeling, technique) before transmitting to PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System)
* Schedule and prioritize exams efficiently, accommodating emergency cases when necessary
* Collaborate with radiologists to determine non-standard exam requirements and communicate results effectively
* Maintain radiation safety standards to minimize exposure to patients, staff, and yourself
* Record, track, and maintain accurate patient exam records in the Radiology Information System (HIS-RIS)
* Ensure proper patient identification on all images to avoid any discrepancies
* Explain procedures clearly to patients, ensuring they are informed and comfortable
* Be available for on-call or emergency scans outside regular hours when necessary
* Work independently and report any issues to the Imaging Chief Technologist
*Ultrasound Technologist Qualifications:*
* ARDMS Certification
* Certification as required in any U.S. State, Territory, or Commonwealth, or the District of Columbia
* BLS Certification through the American Heart Association
* Ability to pass a government criminal history background check
