Bake Sum is currently hiring experienced bakers onto our production team. Do you thrive in the mornings, working with a tight knit team, shaping and laminating doughs and baking lots of beautiful pastries day in and day out?
We require all bakers be able to lift 50 lbs and be able to stand 8 hours on their feet.
This role is for our production kitchen in Berkeley where we produce all our cookies, croissants, cakes, milk bread and mix our batters. There is a lot of room for learning as tasks will be fairly standardized from week to week. The expectation is that teammates help out across tasks as needed. We operate a lot of large scale equipment here, large rack ovens, big mixer bowls and large bins of flour and sugar - attention to detail is required and necessary for safety. Your day to day will look like the following:
-Measuring/Dividing/Shaping doughs
-Laminating dough as needed
-Attention to detail and speed are both important
You will be requested on occasion to start at 5AM/6AM in the mornings and be done with your shifts by 1-2PM.
