Job Description
CFD Research Corporation is looking to add an experienced electrical engineer to the team to support research and development (R&D) at our new Hollywood Alabama Engineering Test Center, located a short distance from our Headquarters in Huntsville, AL. The position is a new role that will work on a growing team of engineers and technicians and will encompass conceptual design, prototyping, and testing phases in support of Navy airborne power systems. The ideal candidate will come from an electrical engineering background with extensive experience with flight systems (preferably light-weight Naval flight systems), avionics systems development, and/or power-generation systems. We are hoping to add this kind of industry experience to our growing R&D capabilities to deliver innovative solutions at the highest Technology Readiness Levels.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Position requires a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (or similar STEM discipline) and at least 10+ years of relevant experience
  • Candidate must be a US Citizen and meet eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance (preferred candidate will already possess a Secret Clearance)

Desired:
  • Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering (or similar STEM discipline)
  • Demonstrated experience applying principles and practices of electrical engineering associated with aircrafts and flight systems (preferably Naval flight systems)
  • Demonstrated experience determining the service life, survivability, reliability, and maintainability of electrical flight systems
  • Demonstrated experience developing products and services required to ensure airworthiness of electrical systems
  • SolidWorks or CAD experience preferred


Location: This individual will work onsite in Hollywood, Alabama and may include trips to our Headquarters in nearby Huntsville, AL as needed.
