Description Leidos has an opening for a
Network Administrator to support a program for the Department of Justice at a location in the District of Columbia. The program provides a range of IT services, including network support. This position will be responsible for overall network engineering support including planning, designing, and evaluating various components of the network.
Duties may include providing specifications for network architecture, evaluating and recommending new technologies to enhance current capabilities, and performing needs assessments. Support level duties may include monitoring, installation, modification, testing and servicing of network equipment. Work independently to achieve day-to-day objectives with significant impact on operational results or project deliverables. Develop technical solutions that require collaboration with internal experts, deep analyses and understanding of impact on end-product/solution. Develop solutions to technical problems and issues that are unclear and require deep technical knowledge.
Responsible for entire projects or processes spanning multiple technical areas. Manages large projects or processes while developing solutions to complex technical issues and problems that impact multiple area or disciplines. In addition, the position requires communicating with internal team members across multiple areas and client team members as well as with parties external to the organization (e.g., sub-contractors, vendors, etc.).
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the agencies' local area network (LAN) and WiFi, maintaining and upgrading network infrastructure, including wired and wireless access points, Zscaler Client-Connector end-user host clients, and Zscaler App-Connector instances, managing and configuring Zscaler Zero-Trust access policies, and providing security upgrades. Leidos will also manage and configure NETSCOUT nGeniusOne platform, nGenius Colectors, as well as all NETSCOUT vStream monitoring agents.
In addition, the successful candidate will perform proper trade study for network monitoring tools and perform Analysis of Alternatives (AoA) to evaluate and determine the best toolset for the existing requirements, current operational environment, and customer goals. Further shall continuously improve the quality and efficiency of IT services by implementing industry best practices and enhancing the agency's zero trust posture.
- Manage the local area network (LAN) and WiFi, including configuration, optimization, and troubleshooting.
- Maintain and upgrade network infrastructure, including wireless access points and Zscaler Client-Connectors for internet security clients.
- Maintain and update configuration for all Zscaler services including: Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA), Zscaler Private Access (ZPA), and Zscaler Digital Experience (ZDX).
- Evaluate leading monitoring tools and perform Analysis of Alternatives to recommend the best monitoring tool for current environment and stakeholder requirements.
- Maintain and monitor current UPS battery backup system to ensure they are capable of continuous sustainment of required SLAs for network availability uptime.
- Provide security upgrades and enhancements to maintain the zero trust posture.
- Ensure compliance with FIPS 140 level 2 and FIPS 140 level 3 NIST certified cryptographic modules for zero trust laptops.
- Manage Microsoft Endpoint Manager for laptop management and Azure AD for access control. Utilize Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA) and Zscaler Private Access (ZPA) for secure internet and internal resource access.
- Develop network topology diagrams, as well as network related documentation.
- Develop data dashboards in Excel and PowerPoint presentations.
- Attend meetings with the customer as required.
- Provide weekly reporting of issues and projects
- Ability and willingness to work extended hours or modified schedule for planned and emergency work.
- Review, resolve and close incidents, service requests and change request and collaborate with the customer and across other program areas for issue resolution within the established SLAs
- Proactively monitor the network infrastructure and resolve any concerns before they become issues.
Required Qualifications:
- BS and 4 - 8 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 2 - 6 years of prior relevant experience. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- 3 years of experience in one or more of the technologies Zscaler and NetScout
- 2 years experience configuring and maintaining a Zero Trust.
- 2 years in configuring, maintaining and operating traditional wired networks.
- 2 years of configuring, maintaining and operating WiFi networks.
- Ability to work well with people from many different disciplines with varying degrees of technical experience
- Ability to express complex technical concepts effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to work with a large diverse team supporting multiple customers in a shared team environment.
- Monitor and analyze network logs, alerts, and reports to ensure effective threat detection and prevention
- Perform follow-up through system monitoring and communication with users and other support teams
- Configure and monitor appropriate alerts to allow for quick response to security risks
- Implement and enforce security policies, including data loss prevention (DLP) and access control
- Ability to lead support issues to a successful conclusion while updating management and senior leadership.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
- Candidate selected will be subject to a Government Public Trust security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to the customer's information.

Salary Range for this position: $90K to $98K

Pay Range: Pay Range $68,900.00 - $124,550.00
