Job Description
VertiSource HR is looking for a Sr. Human Resources Business Partner to join our team. In this role, you will perform HR-related duties at a professional level, working closely with senior management and business clients. Key functional areas include workers' compensation, benefits administration, employee relations, training and development, performance management, recruiting and onboarding, policy creation and implementation, and employment law compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide HR support internally and to VertiSource HR's clients, including benefits administration, employee relations, training and development, and employment law compliance.
  • Research and provide accurate HR guidance on employment law in multiple states.
  • Communicate various HR policies and procedures to employees, clients, and client employees, including state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal employment regulations.
  • Manage workers' compensation, including administration, claims management, and client relations.
  • Oversee occupational safety and health compliance, communication, and training.
  • Assist with affirmative action programs and EEO-1 report filing, maintaining compliance records.
  • Assist with 401k reporting and client administration.
  • Investigate and resolve employee complaints, including discrimination and harassment allegations.
  • Represent the company and clients in unemployment claims, including responses, appeals, and hearings.
  • Provide training to company and client employees, including management and harassment training.
  • Conduct job analysis and create job descriptions for clients.
  • Administer recruiting processes for clients, including job postings, resume screening, and interview coordination.
  • Handle HR-related administrative tasks, including unemployment documentation, wage garnishments, court orders, and employment verifications.
  • Maintain client and employee files.
  • Assist team members with other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications:
  • 5-7 years of comprehensive HR experience.
  • 3+ years of Microsoft Office experience.
  • Proficiency with payroll software.
  • Strong accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Proven experience in a fast-paced HR environment.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws.
  • Ability to handle a high volume of transactions with urgency.
  • Excellent understanding of HR procedures.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work seated in front of a computer for long periods.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in business or HR preferred.

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment:

The employee regularly works in an office setting and visits clients in various industries and locations.

Physical Demands:

The employee must be able to use hands and fingers to handle objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, and frequently stand, talk, see, and hear. Occasional driving or other transportation to client sites is required.
