Position Summary:The Arc of the United States seeks an experienced Senior Human Resources Manager to lead, coordinate and implement the day to day HR programs and initiatives necessary for The Arc to achieve its strategic priorities. The Senior Manager works closely with the CEO and COO to set and operationalize the HR strategy for The Arc, this includes employee engagement and retention, performance management, talent acquisition, compensation, benefits and compliance, HR systems and infrastructure, and other employee programs. This role is responsible for partnering directly with leadership, managers and with employees, at all levels, to deliver proactive HR solutions, while fostering a climate of trust and commitment. The Senior Manager will be customer service focused and will ensure sound employment, orientation, and benefits practices. The role works collaboratively with the Operations Team, with special mentorship of a Payroll and Benefits Manager.
This is a newly created position located in the DC-metro area with a hybrid work environment of three days in office and two days remote work.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:- Develop and implement strategies that align with The Arc, it's goals and culture, and support a positive employee experience.
- Continuously assess and evolve HR policies and practices tailored to the business.
- Develop and implement effective onboarding, growth and retention strategies.
- Develop and administer performance management programs. Provide guidance to managers around all aspects of performance management.
- Perform HR data analysis and reporting to inform data-driven decision making.
- Lead and contribute to strategy, development and management of compensation and health and welfare programs, ensuring they are competitive and in line with best-in-class offerings.
- Handle employee relations issues, investigations, and conflict resolution with a commitment to promoting a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
- Ensure compliance with labor laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Full cycle administration of all employee onboarding and benefits programs, including managing open enrollment, processing changes and terminations and maintaining a strong relationship with the benefits broker.
- Manage and maintain the HR portion of HRM to ensure consistency, accuracy and integrity of employee actions, changes and information processed in iSolved. including leave and pay.
- Source, engage, and hire the best talent, positioning us as the employer of choice for top-tier talent. Offer new and creative strategies for acquiring and retaining key talent for our home team and communities.
- Serve as a resource to employees for questions related to HR, benefits, policies and procedures within The Arc.
- Provide guidance, delegation, training and mentorship to the Payroll and Benefits Administrator.
- Spend 10% of time to support the most urgent of office needs, to include managing hoteling software, technology allotment to staff, All-Staff meeting agendas and luncheons and other office related activities that promote a highly productive work environment.
Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree required. Minimum of seven years of relevant on the job experience.
- 2+ years of senior level HR experience.
- History of evaluating and implementing smart, tailored HR programs and initiatives.
- Demonstrated background in performance management, change management and leadership development, including coaching.
- Excellent knowledge of evolving HR best practices, policies, procedures, and employment law.
- High emotional intelligence and exceptional listening and interpersonal skills to interface with all levels of staff.
- Ability to adapt approach in real-time to match shifting priorities.
- Strong communication skills, the ability to simply translate HR requirements and theories into everyday language.
- Demonstrable attention to detail and organizational skills coupled with a consistent and proactive approach.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and HR platforms and system integration.
- Professional, self-motivated, and results oriented with excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to operate independently and as a team member, regularly use judgment and discretion in accomplishing goals and objectives.
- Experience creating strong partnerships with leaders and the ability to influence without authority.
- Ability and desire to work in office 3 days per week
Benefits, Compensation, and Work EnvironmentThis is an at-will, full time employment position. Competitive salary based on education and experience, base salary range of $80,000 - $100,000. Comprehensive benefits package that includes health and dental insurance, 403(b) employer contribution, accrued vacation and sick leave, paid family leave, and more. Majority of work is completed on a computer and in meetings (in-person and virtual).
