Job Description

Tufts Medical Centers Physician Organization and the Division of Psychiatry seeks a full time Chief for Ambulatory Psychiatry and Integrated Behavioral Healthcare.  This position will be based at Tufts Medical Center in Boston with occasional travel to other system hospitals.  The successful candidate will be responsible for leading Ambulatory Psychiatry and Integrated Behavioral Healthcare at Tufts Medical Center and across the Tufts Medicine system, including the Tufts Medicine Integrated Network of primary and medical specialty care practices. The anticipated schedule will include 50% of time providing strategic and clinical leadership  and 50% of time providing clinical outpatient treatment. 

How youll transform patient care:

  • Develop and implement innovative approaches to service delivery including developing strategies and service delivery models to promote patient access to care.
  • Provide leadership for and participate in the development and execution of outpatient psychiatry and integrated behavioral health clinical and operational improvement initiatives.
  • In collaboration with the Department Chair and Executive Director, develop productivity targets appropriate to each discipline and implement tracking and accountability mechanisms.
  • Develop and implement strategies for ensuring compliance with patient care standards, laws, regulations, and the standards and requirements of various professional organizations and regulatory agencies.
  • Build Partnership between PCPs and Psychiatry through an integrated behavioral health care model, that includes the delivery of Collaborative Care for specified populations.
  • Expand billing practices and enhance revenue generation for integrated behavioral health; PCP annual screenings.

Who You Are:

  • A demonstrated successful clinical leader at an academic institution  
  • A passionate mentor with a proven track record of both clinical and academic accomplishments and of supporting the clinical accomplishments of those you have advised
  • Possess an MD, or equivalent, and eligible to obtain a medical license in the State of Massachusetts 
  • BC/BE in Psychiatry
  • Eligible for an academic appointment with Tufts University School of Medicine
