Responsibilities

  •  Administer various types of anesthesia, including general, regional, and monitored anesthesia care (MAC), tailored to the specific   needs of cardiac surgery patients.
  •  Perform comprehensive pre-operative assessments of cardiac surgery patients, including review of medical history, anesthesia risks,  and cardiac status evaluation.
  •  Monitor hemodynamic parameters, cardiac function, and intraoperative blood volume status during cardiac surgical procedures,   adjusting anesthesia levels and medications as necessary to optimize patient outcomes.
  •  Manage anesthesia induction, maintenance, and emergence phases with precision, ensuring hemodynamic stability and effective   pain control throughout the surgical procedure.
  •  Coordinate closely with cardiac surgeons, perfusionists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care and   seamless intraoperative management of cardiac surgery patients.

Qualifications

  • Medical degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Board certification in Anesthesiology from the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA) or equivalent certifying body.
  • Fellowship training or extensive experience in cardiac anesthesia from an accredited program.
  • Valid state medical license
  • Demonstrated proficiency in cardiac anesthesia techniques, intraoperative TEE interpretation, and acute care management of cardiac surgery patients.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams in a fast-paced surgical environment.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail in clinical decision-making.
  • Commitment to patient-centered care, quality improvement, and adherence to evidence-based practice guidelines.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and adapt to changing clinical situations during cardiac surgical procedures.
  • Willingness to participate in on-call duties
