Henry Ford Health is seeking an NP/PA for days or nights. Contingent position available with a minimum of 1 weekend per month and 1 holiday per year required.
Overview:
- Provides emergent, inpatient and/or outpatient medical care with the supervision but not necessarily the presence of a qualified physician member of the medical staff
- Takes patient history, performs physical examination, orders and interprets tests, makes diagnoses and institutes appropriate treatment programs
- Performs nursing functions independently
- Works in collaboration with staff physicians, house officers, nurses and other members of the medical care team to ensure that patient outcomes are achieved in a safe and efficient manner
- Specific procedures are individually credentialed as indicated by training and experience
Requirements:
- Must be a Masters prepared Registered Nurse who has graduated and taken the board certification within their chosen specialty -OR- Must hold a Bachelor's Degree and have completed an AMA-approved Physician Assistant program and taken the boards
- Must have no encumbering circumstances which would prevent credentialing by the Henry Ford Medical board
- Requires licensure as a Certified Nurse Practitioner; licensure as a Registered Nurse -OR- Requires licensure as a Physician Assistant
- Must be eligible or have obtained a DEA number for prescriptive authority in Michigan
- BCLS Certification required
- ACLS Certification required
- Requires certification in one of the following: ANA certification exam in a nursing specialty field; National Certification Corporation (NCC); National Certification Board of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners and Associates; and/or Certification from Michigan State Board of Nursing as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) -OR- Requires continuing certification by the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants
- A minimum of 3 years of experience working in inpatient critical care medicine as an APP or an RN is preferred
- A Physician Assistant or a Nurse Practitioner who holds an Acute Care Degree is preferred
- Experience working with central lines is preferred; if the experience is not held there must be a willingness to learn
