They have a strong understanding of marketing and have proven capable of leading a creative team to deliver powerful and polished verbal and visual communications. They are effective in providing sound direction that enhances copy and art regardless of their native discipline. They confidently articulate ideas and creative solutions that excites/inspires the agency team, and the client can embrace. They nurture and motivate their team, are passionate about creative and responsive in the face of client feedback. They have excellent management skills and demonstrate leadership qualities and the potential for future growth. They have an inspiring, confidence-building presence and can be relied upon to help manage their teams through rough waters. They have won the trust and respect of their peers and their clients.
What You'll Do The ACD has taken a major step forward in their career and in their level of responsibility within the agency. The role demands an ability to lead teams rather than manage. This entails mentorship (active and passive); inspiring confidence when the team is "up against it" by solving problems before they negatively impact the team or the work. It entails taking the lead when others may want to shrink in times of challenge/adversity. The "big picture" is ever-present in your day-to-day efforts but making sure the team never loses sight of the "details" is also your responsibility. At this level, it is now incumbent upon you to hold the entire team accountable (including yourself) for agency hygiene and creative excellence. Ensuring the health of the agency now influences decisions you will make or recommend.
- Demonstrates the organizational skills and commitment to lead significant initiatives, such as new campaign development
- Active participation/volunteering in leading new business pitches
- Actively develops/hones presentation skills and encourages team members to do the same
- Provides leadership qualities that inspire original, compelling and strategically sound verbal and visual creative solutions
- Develops/nurtures collaborative partnerships with account, planning and multidisciplinary teams
- Works closely with account/planning in development of creative briefs
- Stays on top of ever-changing and emerging technologies, marketing and healthcare trends
- Knows when to be hands-on and how/when to delegate tasks
- Contributes/influences the development of budgets and timelines
- Anticipates and effectively solves staffing needs
- Is empathetic always, can be objective, and keeps ego in check
What You'll Need - 10+ years art direction experience, formal design training with exceptional conceptual and design skills a must
- Expert use of Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign
- Solid presentation capabilities
- Combination of print and web experience
- Overseen progression of campaign from rough sketches through final production
- Experience coordinating multiple work groups from marketing, design and development to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
- Selects and supervises outside graphic services including freelance artists, studios, illustrators and photographers
- Experience leading a project from conception to implementation
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

The base salary range for this position at the time of this posting is indicated below. Individual compensation varies based on job-related factors, including location, business needs, level of responsibility, experience, and qualifications. Pay Range
$75,000 - $180,000 USD
