The Civil IT Division at Leidos has an opening for a Portfolio Manager to support and lead a portfolio of contracts supporting federal agencies. The Portfolio Manager will be responsible for leading a team in the execution of a portfolio of contracts valued at >$50M annually, leading and motivating a talented and diverse team delivering on multiple programs, projects, and initiatives for customers. This portfolio is responsible for mission-critical functions for federal government agencies and must have a broad range of technical and management talent committed to achieving customer objectives. The ideal candidate will adopt the customer's mission as their own, and passionately pursue ideas and opportunities to support that mission!

This position offers a hybrid work arrangement with an estimated 70% telecommuting and 30% in-office (Reston VA, or customer sites in the Washington Metro Area).

The Challenge:
  • Develop and execute a strategy for successful performance and contract growth through the planning, organizing, securing, and retaining resources that drive the successful execution of requirements
  • Define and control contract scope, milestone planning, budgeting, and financial goals across the portfolio
  • Shape and maintain effective relationships with customers, subcontractors, and suppliers
  • Build useful industry relationships with partners and competitors
  • Work with the finance team to build effective financial forecasts and meet financial targets
  • Lead portfolio growth by developing and pursuing opportunities consistent with strategic plans
  • Provide vision, leadership, direction, and motivation that yields exceptional performance on existing contracts and builds a path to opportunity and growth.

What Sets You Apart:
  • Bachelor's, or equivalent experience, and 12+ years of experience in project and program management; candidates with a Master's will have 10+ years of relevant experience
  • 7+ years of experience leading teams or projects.
  • Demonstrated experience managing organizations of more than 50 people, and experience managing managers, and working effectively as a leader and member of a management team
  • Demonstrated experience projecting and achieving financial targets, with annual revenue above $25M, appropriate cost controls, and required profitability
  • Demonstrated performance management experience, including hiring, firing, rewards, and recognition.
  • History of building effective and positive customer relationships
  • Experience with the full lifecycle of a pursuit and on-contract growth in the federal contracts market
  • Proven ability to develop and execute strategic initiatives, build strong cross-functional relationships, and drive results in complex environments.

You Might Also Have:
  • An active Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Knowledge and experience with contract capture processes
  • Treasury/IRS knowledge and experience

  • U.S. Citizenship or lawful permanent residence
  • Ability to be cleared by the US Government via a Minimum Background Investigation (MBI), including compliance with federal tax obligations

Pay Range: Pay Range $144,300.00 - $260,850.00
