POSITION OVERVIEW Reporting into our Head of Strategy, Grey Health's Medical Strategy Director will be responsible for understanding the scientific and clinical aspects of their assigned businesses and brands, as well as serve as a key strategic scientific resource for both internal teams and clients. In this leadership role you will leverage science in brand differentiation and communications, collaborate with copywriters and medical writers, as well as the larger agency leadership teams including New Business, to represent the scientific perspective throughout creative development to ensure scientific and clinical relevance. You will be responsible for managing a team inclusive of medical strategists and senior medical strategists.
You will ensure the Medical Strategy team works in a continues effort to develop a strategic skill sets in an effort to uncover the most compelling insights in which to differentiate a brand in a medically viable and compelling perspective, constantly pushing to make Famously Effective work.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - Directly produce scientific and clinical information output that is relevant, accurate, and on-strategy
- Represent the scientific perspective throughout the strategic and creative process
- Demonstrate depth of understanding for multiple products, pharmaceuticals, devices and disease states
- Review relevant medical content, develop strategies and tactics regarding disease stage and therapeutic agents, and distill the medical and scientific information into strategic insights and actionable ideas
- Proactively and proficiently provide strategic medical recommendations based on the changing market to enhance brand communications
- Ensure that projects are technically accurate and audience appropriate
- Develop scientific messages, consult on concepts, and advise as a scientific sounding board
- Use science to differentiate brands and create compelling programs
- Partner with strategic planning on insight mining, participate by interviewing physicians and patients as appropriate
- Mentor and/or manage junior members of the Medical Strategy team
WHAT YOU WILL NEED: - Experience in the pharmaceutical industry and/or pharmaceutical marketing desired; direct experience developing medical communications programs such as scientific platform development, advisory board preparation, training modules, publications preferred
- Must be able to provide scientific and medical expertise across a broad range of therapeutic categories
- An advanced scientific degree (Ph.D., MD, PharmD) preferred
- 6-10 years of experience in a Medical Communications

The base salary for this position at the time of this posting may range from $160,000 to $175,000.
