All Staff Nurse Fellows are required to submit to Human Resources a current Texas Registered Nurse license prior to the deadline for attending orientation. All Staff Nurse Fellows are required to submit to Human Resources a current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS card before the deadline to attend orientation. All Staff Nurse Fellows will complete the ACLS certification class during the fellowship. You must submit to Human Resources a copy of the current ACLS card upon completion of the class. Staff Nurse Fellows in the Emergency Department and the Surgical Services (OR) department will complete the PALS certification class during the fellowship. You must submit to Human Resources a copy of the current PALS card upon completion of the class. Staff Nurse Fellows in the Emergency Department will complete the TNCC (Trauma) class during the first 12 months from date residency begins. You must submit to Human Resources a copy of the current TNCC card upon completion of the class. Staff Nurse Fellows in the Maternal Child Nursing (MCN) will complete the Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) during the fellowship. You must submit to Human Resources a copy of the current NRP card upon completion of the class. Upon completion of the residency program you must come to Human Resources to sign a Staff Nurse job description and get your photo ID badge changed to a Registered Nurse badge. Throughout your career as a Registered Nurse with Methodist Health System you must submit to Human Resources a current copy of all required license and certifications prior to the expiration date of each license/certification.
