Responsibilities
Harbor Point Behavioral Health Center offers intensive residential treatment services within a secure setting. Our programs are designed to meet the needs of youth ages 7- 17 who are experiencing emotional, psychiatric and educational difficulties. In addition to our general psychiatric programs, we also offer specialty programs for youth with more serious challenges. Harbor Point and its programs are fully accredited by The Joint Commission and the Virginia Association of Independent Specialized Educational Facilities. We are licensed by The Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services and the Virginia Department of Education. We are a TRICARE®-approved and certified facility.
Position Scope :
Maintains the facility in a clean, sanitary, orderly and attractive condition to provide a suitable environment for residents, staff and visitors.
Essential Functions :
Maintains physical plant.
•Polices grounds to remove trash and debris from landscape, parking lots and walkways.
•Collects and disposes of trash two (2) times each day.
•Sweeps, mops, wet washes and vacuums floors.
•Strips and polishes floors.
•Washes waste baskets and refuse containers.
•Washes walls, ceilings and windows.
•Cleans high places.
•Replaces disposables.
•Washes sinks and plumbing fixtures.
•Cleans carpeting.
•Maintains cleanliness of fire stairwells and landings ensuring they are free from all debris.
•Maintains cleanliness of elevator surfaces.
•Assists with emergency sanitation.
•Moves heavy furniture.
•Sets up conference and meeting rooms.
•Maintains supply closets.
•Maintains tools and equipment.
•Leaves residents' areas clean of debris and tools.
•Prepare beds for new admits
•Cleans windows
•Cleans up spills
•Set up for special functions in meeting and conference rooms
•Disinfect every resident room everyday

Qualifications
Must possess knowledge of and ability to use cleaning equipment and compounds; ability to operate all cleaning equipment; to follow written and oral instructions. An individual must be able to perform each Essential Function of the job satisfactorily. Education:
High school graduate, GED or equivalent experience.
Experience:
One or more year's housekeeping experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
The Physical Requirements described herein are representative of those which must be met by an employee to successfully perform the primary functions of this job. Requires physical exertion and flexibility to stoop, climb, lift weight in excess of 30lbs.; good hearing and vision; mobility and dexterity in both arms to operate tools; exposed to all weather conditions and temperatures.
