BASIC PURPOSEFulfill the mission of The Salvation Army through the implementation of the following duties and responsibilities. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESConduct screening interviews, on site or at other community agencies and institutions, with applicants seeking admission to the program. Confer with referral agents and other extra-agency personnel concerning prospective beneficiaries and request written background information when necessary.Determine if prospective beneficiaries are suitable for the program based on the personal interview and written information.Process required paperwork for admitted beneficiaries and provide program orientation. This includes program rules and regulations, obtaining necessary signatures on all formal agreements, dispensing ID and canteen cards and clothing requisitions, taking personal property inventories (clothing and all personal belongings), assigning dormitory, Work Therapy assignments and interviews with the appropriate counselor.Utilize BITSPro software for maintenance of beneficiary records. This includes maintaining Group Rosters, entering events, updating appointments and other information as directed.This information is to be kept up to date and will be required for the weekly Case Conference meeting.Refer declined applicants to more appropriate resources in the community.Do outreach to local churches, social service agencies, shelters, detox centers and hospitals to make them aware of the program. This outreach includes visiting their sites. Maintain a database. Communicate with these letting them know, at least once a week, how many beds are available.Note: Occupancy below 80% makes this a high priority.Prepare and maintain statistical reports as required by center policy and procedure. Prepare the weekly "Case Management and Staff Meeting" report as assigned.Attend inter-agency meetings and conferences as needed and required.Maintain records of all medical appointments as are required by center procedure and policy. Schedule initial medical appointments (physical examination, chest x-ray, VDRL) for all incoming beneficiaries as assigned.Prepare and distribute daily appointment records listing all beneficiary appointments (medical, legal, counseling, etc.) for both internal and external events.Provide letters as required for court, parole, etc. as requested by the beneficiary.Prepare beneficiary case folders with appropriate blank forms as required by Rehabilitation Counselors.Overall maintenance and security of closed files as assigned.Maintain confidentiality as required in compliance with Federal law, specifically 42 CFR Part 2.Overtime: All overtime must have the written approval of the supervisor. Your supervisor or the Administrator or his designated representative may assign other written or verbal duties.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTSBA in a Social Service Field preferred.Two (2) years of related experiences. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONSMust possess a valid Nevada Class C Driver License, and ability to drive a Salvation Army vehicleMust be 21 years or older.Complete The Salvation Army vehicle course training.
