    Certification Details
  • Must have AHA BLS, AHA ACLS and NIHSS upon submittal

  • Registered Nurse for Medical Surgical / Telemetry
  • 13-week contract
  • Guaranteed Hours: 36 (will accept 48 upon request)
  • Shift Requirement: 12hr Nights 6:30-7
  • Minimum Experience REQUIRED: Two years of strong cardiac/tele experience, 1 travel assignment, trauma level II experience
  • Charting Experience: Recent EPIC experience required (will be required to do a checkoff class)
  • Patient Population: Post cardiac procedure (heart cath, ablation, pacemaker), A-fib RVR, ESRD, CHF, sepsis, tracheostomies, nephrostomy tubes/CBI/renal biopsy, behavioral health/detox
  • Skillset: Tele/12-lead EKG interpretation (travelers are required to pass a tele test), recover heart caths (femoral/TR bands), PIV insertion, chest tube/indwelling drain management, drip management (cardiac-cardizem, amio, etc., other-heparin, lasix, protonix, etc.). CBI, detox/CIWA protocol experience, central line care. Must have strong assessment and critical thinking skills!

    Schedule Information
  • Start: 11/4 or 11/18 - Bi-weekly orientation
  • Primary location: Gateway
  • Float Requirement: First to float within skillset
  • On Call/Call Back Requirement: N/A
  • Weekend/Holiday Requirement: Three weekends out of every six week schedule. Every other holiday.

  • Bed size: 34 beds
  • Case type: Medical Surgical / Telemetry focused on cardiac and renal care
  • Patient ratio: Days 1:4-5; NOCs 1:6-7; CN takes a patient assignment
  • Primary patient population includes those with cardiac and renal issues
  • Unit-specific protocols and procedures to be practiced
  • Scrub Colors: Navy blue scrubs

  • GSA hours are not guaranteed the week of Orientation. Traveler is guaranteed set hours per week, except during holidays where unit is closed
