Maintenance/Housekeeping II or III - Posting #26118
Hourly Range: $20.00-$20.27
Position Summary:
Full-time Maintenance Housekeeping II or III position available. This position will support our Renacer Youth Treatment Center located in Seattle, WA. We are looking for someone who is a multi-tasker, is flexible with the hours offered, and has a friendly demeanor. Individual will be responsible for the daily upkeep of the facilities to ensure a safe, sanitary, and attractive environment for patients, clients, and employees.
General Duties:
Maintenance Housekeeping II: Performs janitorial and maintenance tasks following general health and safety guidelines. There is a need to maintain the exterior and interior work area to include: upkeep of the parking lot to minimize trash and debris, mow the lawn, trim the bushes and hedges, and maintain the grounds around the garden area. The individual may also perform a variety of simple repairs, which will require some knowledge of the following: yard maintenance, plastering, plumbing, and carpentry, painting and electrical work. May be required to do special jobs, which require the use of rental equipment.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • No formal experience is required for this job; however, experience may be substituted for education.
  • Driver's license, auto liability insurance and an automobile are required.
Maintenance III/Housekeeping person must demonstrate an ability and willingness to learn aspects of construction. Must become proficient in the use of drills, skill saws, hammer drills, etc. Push a wheelbarrow full of concrete, bricks, debris etc. Lift and carry lumber, tools, and numerous other materials. Carry, place, and tie reinforcing steel. Assist carpenters by measuring and cutting lumber, nailing, retrieving materials, etc.
Assists with the construction, renovation/remodeling of buildings; repairs plaster and drywall; paints building structures and installs tile and carpet. Will be loading and unloading trucks as needed. Performs general clean-up around the job site. Maintenance/Housekeeping Person III workers must perform all of the above functions in a safe manner in order to avoid personal injury or equipment damage.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one year of responsible experience in building and mechanical equipment maintenance and repair; or an acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Good skill in the use of hand and power tools.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to interpret miscellaneous drawings and schematics.
  • Driver's license, auto liability insurance and an automobile are required.
